She even came recommended by Manager Harper. Was the man blind? The woman was innocent-looking like a white lily. However, her beauty was average in comparison to the female population in Marriott International.

Monique felt her skin crawl when the manager’s hawk-like gaze fell on her.

Manager Hayley kept her anger at bay. Who was she to deny the chairman’s request? She asked, “Why do you want to join the planning department?”

“I want to learn something new. I know I’m inexperienced but I promise I’ll try my best.” Monique anxiously rubbed her hands.

It was daunting to stand before the manager who was 1.8 meters tall.

At least the new hire’s attitude was satisfactory. She did not display any sense of entitlement despite having the chairman’s backing.

Manager Hayley wondered why the woman was assigned to such a lowly position.

She placed the document on her table and said to Charlotte, “Take her to Assistant Manager Waltn. He’ll assign her a desk.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Monique’s hands were covered in sweat. She belatedly realized they were leaving and quickly said, “Thank you, Manager Hayley. I’ll work hard.”

Charlotte was as glad as Monique to be out of the room. Manager Hayley was a notoriously strict boss. Manager Harper must have given her the heads up for the meeting to go smoothly.

They went looking for the assistant manager. Jacob Walt was a well-groomed and well-dressed man.

The assistant manager caught sight of Charlotte and said, “Charlotte! What a rare sight!”
