Henry’s face had an unreadable expression, and the prominent lines on his face were so sharp and heartless. He was shooting daggers at Nick with his eyes. Monique felt as though he was about to tear Nick into pieces.
Nick turned around nonchalantly as if he was unaware of the wrath behind him. He said with a clear voice, “Chairman Moore, when were you ever interested in women! I was under the impression that you batted for the other team for so many years!”
Henry was boiling inside after Nick’s blatant provocation. However, his face was taut and his expression remained vague. He scoffed, “Mr. Johnny, when did you fall for my woman? If you like her just say it, I’ll give her to you!”
Blood drained from Monique’s face when she heard him as her hands started to tremble uncontrollably.
She could hear the bloodlust in his words. She was truly grateful to Nick for giving her a helping hand, but she had to return to Henry’s side immediately. Otherwise, he would send her away without even giving her a chance to explain!
Would he really send her away? After all, she was just his lover.
The illusion in the afternoon was too alluring that she could not control her heart and fall for him, forgetting about her status of being just a lowly lover.
Nick happened to step in and save her, how did they end up in this situation? Monique’s fear was amplifying endlessly in her mind.
“If that’s the case, I’ll gladly take up the offer.” Nick curled his lips and turned around to Monique. “Monnie, let’s go.”
Monique’s eyes widened in shock, unable to move. She had only seen Nick twice. Why did he act as though they were very close?
Go? Where could she go?
If she followed him, Henry would not let her live, not to mention that Angel was still in Moore manor.
‘Calm down, Monique! Calm down!’
“Are you so sure that she’s willing to follow you?” Henry’s eyes were sharp and cold, his thin lips were pressed so tightly together that it almost disappeared.
