Louise placed her hands on her empty stomach, smiling. “Then I’ll be heading downstairs to get something to eat. Do you need anything? I can help you go buy something to eat as well.”
“It’s alright, go get Monique something to eat as well. Feel free to choose an expensive set of meal, your expenses will be reimbursed.” Henry faintly said, still having no expression on his face.
“Will the expenses for my meal be reimbursed as well?” Louise gave off a joyful look.
Henry nodded.
Louise left the scene happily and without a second thought, she headed straight for B City’s most famous restaurant. It was said that the food there was scrumptious and extremely pricey.
However, all the food that was ordered would be prepared on the spot and they would not take preorders. Therefore, Louise would have to wait for some time for the food to be prepared.
The restaurant provided her with some appetizers for her to fill up her stomach. No doubt it was a really huge restaurant as the snacks they served were finger-licking good as well.
After gulping down the appetizers, Louise continued to wait patiently while looking forward to the meal.
Henry sank in the chair that was placed beside Monique’s bed.
Henry fixed his gaze at Monique, whose face was gorgeous, with her skin appearing rather pale, also her lips which were initially pinkish, now pale too. However, the sight of her being so fragile and weak made others had the urge to resort to violence against her.
A sense of uncertainty was seen in Henry’s black eyes as he recalled Monique’s statement. He recalled Monique’s disappointed expression back in Blues Bar when she woke up. She was up that whole night, crying when she was insulted by Henry in Moore’s manor. Also, in the Star River Residence, she purposely tripped herself over just to avoid being in contact physically with Henry.
“It’s so ridiculous, you even gave me flowers! How does it feel to be insulted by others? It’s not a good experience right?”
‘All the good deeds that I did for her, in the end, she felt that she was being insulted instead?’
Monique’s words deeply hurt Henry’s pride, as though his heart was being pierced by a knife.
