"I understand, you can rest assured." Jayson answered Skylar's question, and he could not help but ask, "What's the risk of your surgery this time? Are you sure it's going to be fine?"

Jayson had never asked anything about the operation before.

However, when Skylar was about to leave, he still couldn't hold it in at the end.

After all, if anything were to happen to Skylar, Skyton Corporation would be doomed for real.

Although Hazel was capable, no one was as good as Skylar. In other words, he was the only one who could make Skyton Corporation develop further.

"Don't worry. When you see me again, I will be well as before."

Skylar gave Jayson a look of assurance.

Skylar then left with the medical staff.

On the plane, the doctor started massaging Skylar's legs. He spoke as he massaged, "President Holland, you're keeping this a secret from everyone, what if..."

Skylar lied to everyone.

The surgery he was going to do had a high theoretical success rate, but no human had done the surgery before. Skylar would be the first person in record.

"Nothing will happen, I am a very lucky person."

Skylar replied.

He didn't dare to imagine what would happen if the operation failed.

During the days when Skylar was away, Coralie would chat with Skylar via text every morning. Other than that, she would accompany Hendric to play during the day since he hadn't been enrolled in school yet. She even brought him and Hera abroad. She brought them to witness the ancient architectures to broaden their horizons.

The three of them were enjoying themselves for more than a month and didn't come back until February.

Wayne's work was different; he couldn't get any holidays even during the New Year. He said that he had to prepare for the upcoming competition, and he only came back on the night before the holidays.

On the night when Wayne returned, Coralie and Hera made some fortune cookies, with only five of them containing a fortune note within. As they were eating, Coralie and Skylar had a video call, and it was morning where Skylar was.

"Pick one and let Hendric eat it for you." Coralie took the jar of fortune cookies up before her phone as she said, "You might get a good one and you'll be lucky throughout the year!"

"What sort of tradition is that?"

"My family's tradition." Coralie said while pointing at the fortune cookies and asked, "Which one do you want? Tell me when you've picked it."

"You can choose any one for me."

"No, Dad, you have to choose this by yourself!" Hendric said as he grabbed a cookie while enjoying it with relish.

He ate it quickly and finished it in a few bites. Then he turned to Coralie and said, "Mom, there's nothing in here."

"It's alright. There are so many of them and all five of them are still there."

"Okay then." Hendric nodded disappointedly. He then looked at the pile of fortune cookies on the table and said, "But I'm almost full..."

Coralie looked at Hendric's pitiful face and pointed at a cookie which was obviously wrapped differently compared to the others, then she point at it and said, "Why don't you try this?"

"Sure!"

Hendric scooped the cookie into his bowl. As soon as he took a bite of it, he shouted, "Wow! There's a piece of fortune in here!"

He didn't care about anything else. He took the paper out and showed it to Skylar in the video call.

"Hendric will be lucky all year round this year!"

Coralie said happily.

Skylar was looking at the cookies. He could tell that the cookie that Coralie pointed for Hendric was obviously different from others; it was specially made for Hendric.

"Are you cheating?"

Skylar asked in a low voice.

"Oh, you'd better choose one quickly!"

Coralie immediately interrupted Skylar.

Although Hendric was young and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that cookie and the others, if Skylar said it, he would definitely know.

"This one."

Skylar was tired of looking at all the fortune cookies. He wanted to see Coralie, so he casually chose one.

Wayne immediately proved to Skylar that he had not gotten a single fortune after eating the fortune cookies the whole time and he was feeling extremely aggrieved.

After running around for a while, Hendric then ran to Coralie and said, "Mom, my tooth broke"

As he spoke, he opened his mouth with a distressed look. His teeth were originally very neat, but now there was a small gap, showing that a tooth had fallen off as he bit the cookie.

Coralie said with a smile.

"Dad, compensate me."

Hendric said along with seriousness.

His son's tooth broke because of the fortune cookie he chose. He was willing to compensate him.

Even if it never happened, he would still be willing to give Hendric whatever he wanted.

"I..." Hendric tilted his little head and looked at Skylar on the phone screen. He thought for a while and said, "I want Daddy to bring me to the amusement park! I want to go to the amusement park ten times!"

"Sure! No problem."

Skylar agreed.

He thought that Hendric would ask for something else, but he didn't expect it to be such a small wish.

"Yes! A true man must keep his promise!"

Hendric pointed his little finger at the screen, wanting to make a pinky swear with Skylar.

Skylar also reached out his little finger and made a pinky promise with Hendric.

Coralie looked at both father and son and smiled happily at the side. She was happy not only because of Hendric's innocence as a child, but also because Skylar picked a cookie with a piece of fortune.

After that, Hera and Coralie ate some of the cookies. They didn't eat much of them, so they didn't get any of them with fortunes.
