Saule was having trouble breathing, and it was clear that this was no ordinary illness.

Pearl knew she couldn't wait any longer. She lifted Saule onto her back and helped her into the car.

"Gigi, I need to take my mom to the hospital. Richard won't be home today. You can make dinner yourself, right?"

Gigi stepped forward, looking worried. "Why don't I come with you? I'm good at taking care of people. I could help."

"It's alright," Pearl reassured Gigi.

So, Gigi agreed to stay and nodded. She stayed home as asked.

Pearl gave Gigi a serious look before driving off. On the way, she called Waldorf Residence and felt better after talking to Ramona.

Then, she called Richard. "Richard, find an excuse not to come home tonight."

Richard understood when he heard that. "Okay, got it."
