Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 1067

Pearl asked Yulian to sit on the couch, and then she went to the kitchen to prepare some snacks. She came back with a plate of cut fruit and two cups of hot tea and set them on the table.

"Miss Pearl, are you really going to get a divorce?" Yulian asked.

Pearl smoothed her hair and nodded. "Yes, it's true. Things have gotten to a point where I need to get a divorce to stop the rumors."

"But weren't you two very much in love? Won't getting a divorce hurt your relationship even more?"

"It will," Pearl admitted, looking sad. "I'm not sure what will happen after the divorce, but I need to do it for my own good."

Yulian wrote something down quietly.

"When are you planning to get a divorce?"

"Friday," Pearl answered.

"Just a simple divorce?"

Pearl laughed a little. "No, I'm planning to take it to court."

Yulian flinched. He looked down and realized he had made a mark on his paper with his pen.

He switched to a clean sheet and asked, "Why take it to court?"

Pearl looked around to make sure they were alone, then whispered, "Our relationship hasn't been good for a while. This scandal just gave me a reason."

Yulian was shocked. That seemed like a piece of big news.

His heartbeat quickened as he asked, "Is it that bad that you need to go to court?"

Pearl played with her bracelet, her expression hard to read. "You might not know, but Richard's dad gave me fifteen percent of the Waldorf family's shares. Richard thinks those should stay in the family. If we divorce, he wants them back."
