Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 1223

Pearl was cunning as always.

"I made a recording, just in case someone tries to deny anything." Even though Pearl was upset, she felt bad about Jasmine's death and the pain it caused Chester.

"Really, you think you can prove I did anything wrong with just that recording? No one will believe you, and I wouldn't either." Lorrie shrugged. "I could just say you edited it."

Seeing Lorrie's smug look, Pearl played another recording on her phone.

"You were recording… Really, you think you can prove I did anything wrong with just that recording…"

Lorrie's confidence vanished. "Why are you bothering me?"

Pearl put her phone away. "Can we talk properly now?"

Lorrie suppressed her anger. "Sure. Take a seat."

Pearl sat down and asked, "Why did you kill Jasmine?"

Lorrie smiled and shook her head. "I'm not going to answer that. Also, I never admitted to killing Jasmine."

After the two recordings, Lorrie became more cautious and picked her words carefully.

Pearl knew she couldn't make her confess, so she asked a different question. "Why did you come back?"

Lorrie couldn't help but smile, impressed at her changing the topic. "You're still as determined as before."

"So, can you answer my question now?"
