"Why did he break up with her?" Pearl knew she was talking about Esther.

"He broke up with her because his ex came back into his life. It's kind of funny because my friend looked just like his ex. It was like she was just a stand-in."

Summer looked really upset as she shared this. "My friend was such a wonderful person, inside and out. They were even engaged. But then his old love came back, and my friend was pushed aside."

"Didn't your friend try to talk to him after that?"

Summer's face showed her sadness. "Of course, she did. But what's the use? He didn't even want to see her. She came here and waited outside his door for two days, but he wouldn't come out to talk to her."

"And then?" Pearl's anger was at its peak.

"Now, he's getting married to his ex-girlfriend."

"What did he say when you called him?"

At this point, Summer didn't feel the need to hide anything from her. "He's at home busy spending time with his fiancee."

"Okay, thank you. What's your name?"

Summer waved off the question. "No need to worry about that. I'm putting my job at risk by telling you all this. He'd fire me if he knew."
