#Seeing Rosalie's face immediately turn red, Blake wanted to tease her more.
"You know, I think people who like fairy tales are usually nice. You're an adorable person so why do you keep pretending to be cold?" He found this contrast in her very appealing.
"I'm not adorable." Rosalie was reminded of bad memories when he called her 'adorable'. Her face went blank, and she quickly walked over, grabbed the book, and threw it in the trash. "I don't like fairy tales. That book's old. I just never got rid of it."
She then gave him a look that he couldn't quite figure out. "Get some sleep, good night."
She turned off the lights as she left.
The room was now dark, and Blake lay awake, thinking. Rosalie's reaction made him wonder if something bad had happened to her before.
The next morning, Rosalie looked really pale, and Blake was worried that something might have happened overnight.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. My stomach just hurts." Rosalie held her belly, looking really unwell. "I can't make breakfast today. There's some bread you can eat."
Seeing her in pain, Blake lifted her from the couch. "Don't worry about me," he said, feeling a mix of annoyance and concern. "I won't starve."
He carried her to his room.
