"Alright, I'll leave then."

Finnegan turned and walked away quickly. Esther tried to follow him, but he was walking so fast it seemed like he wanted to escape from her. Eventually, she couldn't see him anymore.

"What's wrong? Are you sad to see him go?" Luther teased.

Esther turned to face him, feeling unexpectedly annoyed. "It's none of our business."

"Hey, you're upset, huh?"

Annoyed, Esther responded, "What does it matter to you?"

Luther looked confused and spread his hands. "You said you like my brother. But why do you care so much about another guy?"

Esther didn't know what to say. "No, I don't. But he's my friend."

Luther laughed. "Friend? That's nice, being friends with a guy who likes you."

"No, I'm not!" Esther's voice grew quieter. "I only found out about his feelings today."

Seeing her upset face, Luther eased up. "Okay, I'm just kidding. Don't be such a crybaby."

Esther wiped her tears. She didn't want to talk to him anymore, and she thought she should say sorry to Finnegan.
