Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 1302

Pearl burst into laughter when Chester called her 'Miss.' He called Sean his father but addressed Pearl formally. He had a sweet tongue.

Chester thought Pearl looked young and pretty, so he thought it was fine to call her that. Ignoring Richard, who stood behind her, Chester rushed to hold Pearl's hand with a smile.

"Miss Pearl, you're really close to my dad, right? Come inside, and I'll make you a cup of tea."

Pearl found Chester's politeness and charm unexpectedly delightful, filling her with a warm, motherly affection. She patted his head and agreed. "Okay."

Chester didn't pay any attention to Richard, his actual father, who followed them inside with a frown.

Chester served tea for Pearl, but not for Richard. Richard pointed at his empty cup and asked, "Why didn't you pour me some?"

Chester coolly replied, "Mister Richard, feel free to make some for yourself if you want some tea."

Pearl was puzzled by Chester's coldness toward Richard. "Chet, is there something wrong? Don't you like your Uncle Richard?"

Chester softened immediately upon Pearl's concern. "No, Miss Pearl. I don't see Mister Richard as an enemy. I just had enough tea for one cup, and I thought you should have it. I'm sure he doesn't mind."

Richard took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. It was his son, after all.
