Pearl was having breakfast early in the morning when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her belly.

Seeing Pearl's pale face, Susan was worried. "Pearl, what's wrong? Why does your belly hurt all of a sudden?"

Pearl didn't know either. She had a terrible stomachache, as if someone was cutting her belly with a knife. She couldn't even speak.

"I'd better take her to the hospital," Richard decided. "If not, it might harm her and the baby." He then quickly picked up Pearl.

When Richard mentioned the baby, Susan realized Pearl was pregnant, which made her very scared. "Will the baby be okay?"

Richard was more focused on getting Pearl help. He said to Susan, still looking worried but trying to stay calm, "I'm taking her to the hospital now. Save the food she ate this morning. I'll check it when I get back."

He had a feeling the pain was connected to the food Pearl ate that morning.

Susan nodded and watched them leave.

At the hospital, a doctor examined Pearl thoroughly.

After looking at the report, the doctor scolded, "What were you thinking letting a pregnant woman eat so much cold food? Don't you care about the baby at all? You should take better care of her. She's weak and shouldn't be eating that kind of food. It's good you brought her quickly. If you were late, it could have been much worse."
