"Richard!" Without thinking, Pearl raised her voice, but was silenced by Richard's kiss.

He kissed her gently, cutting off her words.

The familiar tenderness made Pearl's heart flutter. She closed her eyes and returned his kiss.

When she opened her eyes after a while, Richard was watching her closely, his voice rough. "Be quiet. Darius should be sleeping now."

Embarrassed, Pearl turned bright red and lightly punched his chest. "Seriously, get out of my house since you're not drunk!"

"Do you really want to send me away like this?" Richard leaned closer, his tone teasing.

"Richard, please be careful with your words. The kid might hear us." Worried, Pearl glanced behind, hoping the noise hadn't awakened Darius or shown him something inappropriate.

"He's asleep, it's fine."

Laughing, Richard lifted her into his arms. Startled, Pearl clung to his neck.

"Where's the bedroom?"

Biting her lip, Pearl whispered, "The bedroom is too close to Darius's room. Let's go to the guest room."

Richard looked at the guest room and grinned. He then carried her inside.

The next morning, Darius saw a tall man in his house and blinked in disbelief. "Mom, why is Mister Richard here?"
