Esther had never thought James would stop trying to see her. Before this, he would talk to her at least once a day, even when she pushed him away.

Now, it had been a week since he last reached out, and Esther found herself feeling a bit sad and bored.

"No, what am I thinking?" Esther shook her head, trying to dismiss the thought. "Shouldn't I be happy he's not bothering me? Why do I miss him?"
