Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 403

Chapter 403

“Aren’t you getting married to Mister Raymond soon? Why are you calling me?” Chet seemed to be in a foul mood. He had been swindled by Pearl, and he couldn’t believe that the charming and seductive woman had turned out to be so cunning.

“It’s you guys who sabotaged Waldorf Enterprises, isn’t it?”

“Why would you call me for that? That’s impossible,” Chet replied, sounding a bit unnatural.

“I’m sure you know if it was you or not. I don’t care how you plotted against Waldorf Enterprises, but from now on, I don’t want to see any negative news about them.”

“What are you talking about? How dare you give me orders, Pearl!”

“Well, I have evidence of your company’s tax evasion.” Pearl realized that Chet’s expression must have changed at that

moment.

“Why should I believe you?”

“If you don’t believe me, I can read it to you, Mister Chet.” Pearl then read the year-end transaction amounts over the years from Lawson Enterprises’ financial report. Only then did she realize that Lawson Enterprises’ tax evasion involved a great deal.

of money.

Hearing this, Chet broke out in a cold sweat. “Okay, stop reading it.”

“Do my words still count?”

“Yes,” Chet hurriedly said. “I’ll remove the news about Waldorf Enterprises, but you must promise not to let anyone else know about these things!”

Pearl smiled and agreed.

Lawson Enterprises worked pretty fast. After a short while, Pearl saw the news that Waldorf Enterprises had been proven innocent.

Now, Richard had nothing to worry about. She felt that they were now even.

It had been a long time since Justin had seen Richard. Finally, he went to Richard’s office in Enswood to meet him, only to find Richard standing by the door, lost in thought.

“What’s on your mind?”

Richard snapped out of it and managed a tired smile at Justin. “Nothing.”

“Hey, you’re always so serious when you see me. Why are you smiling now?” Justin walked to the window and stood beside Richard, teasing him. “I heard your company’s crisis got resolved. You must be amazing to deal with that old man from Lawson Enterprises discreetly. Didn’t you know? We had numerous press releases today, all confirming Waldorf Enterprises’ innocence. Mister Chet stepped forward to support them.”

Frowning, Richard asked, “What did you say?”

“Didn’t you read the news?”

Richard hadn’t, as his mind was a mess. Waldorf Enterprises was facing a financial downturn, and he had blocked Pearl’s contact. He was too preoccupied to bother with mundane gossip.

However, he was stunned when he finally read the news. Immediately, he thought of someone. It had to be Pearl’s doing.
