Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren) novel Chapter 246

"I just happened to be out buying something, so I figured I'd stop by to check on you." Alexander cleared his throat and asked casually, "Are you feeling any better?"

"Yeah. A lot better. I should be able to get discharged tomorrow." Clara pulled out a ball of yarn and gestured toward a chair nearby. "Want to come in and sit?"

Alexander stood at the door, glancing inside. He saw that she was alone. "He…"

"He went out," Clara finished his sentence for him.

Alexander nodded and didn't ask further. "The weather's nice today. You've been cooped up in this hospital room for days. Want to go outside for a walk and get some sun?"

She looked out the window. Indeed, the sun was shining brightly.

The past few days had been gloomy, and Wren had been worried the wind would make her condition worse, so he hadn't let her go outside much.

She had been feeling a little stuffy.

"Sure," Clara agreed with a smile.

Alexander's expression softened slightly, and a faint smile played at the corners of his lips. "It's still a bit chilly outside. Put on something warm. I'll wait for you outside."

With that, he turned and left the hospital room, even thoughtfully closing the door behind him.

Clara placed the yarn ball on her pillow. Then, she grabbed a long, thick down coat, put it on, changed her shoes, and stepped outside.

Alexander was leaning against the railing. When he saw her come out, he immediately straightened up.

"Let's go," she said, about to walk forward.

"Wait a second," he suddenly called out.
