Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren) novel Chapter 251

Watching Clara's fearful reaction, Ryan felt an inexplicable thrill rise within him.

He locked his gaze on her, his desire clearly evident in his eyes. Slowly, he stepped closer. "Ms. Salford, the first time I saw you, I…"

"Mr. Chase!" Clara interrupted sharply, her voice rising. She couldn't bear to stay in the room with him any longer, nor could she listen to what he had to say.

"You've been standing for so long, so you must be thirsty. Let me get you some water!"

Without waiting for a reply, Clara quickly left the room.

Ryan was obviously intrigued, and he wasn't about to let such a good opportunity slip by. He stepped forward, blocking her path.

"Ms. Salford, the water's right there," he said, glancing over at the water dispenser before turning his eyes back to her.

He asked as he smirked, "Where do you think you're going?"

Clara's face drained of color as a deep sense of unease surged through her.

Even though she knew they were in a hospital and Ryan probably wouldn't do anything weird toward her, something about him felt off, making her very uncomfortable.

Ryan took in her nervous, uneasy expression. He knew it wasn't the right time to act, but that didn't stop the rush of excitement building inside him.

"Ms. Salford, do you really hate me?" he asked, stepping closer. "Why do you always keep your distance whenever you see me? Did I do something to make you misunderstand me?"

Clara clenched her fists, trying to force herself to stay calm. However, his presence was suffocating, throwing her thoughts into chaos.

Just as she was about to push him away and bolt for the door, a familiar voice cut through the tension, "Clara, I—what the hell are you doing?"

Clara immediately glanced up as she looked past Ryan. The moment she recognized that familiar figure, the tension gripping her chest finally loosened.
