"Who are you?"
At the sound of Wren's question, Ryan took a deep breath, forcing a smile as he turned around.
"I'm a colleague of Ms. Salford's. My name is Ryan Chase. May I ask who you are to her?" Ryan asked as his tone was full of subtle probing. He extended his hand as he looked at Wren from head to toe.
As soon as he saw Wren's appearance, he recalled what Nina had mentioned earlier. Realization hit him like a bolt, and he immediately recognized Wren's identity.
His expression shifted, and a flicker of unease crossed his face.
Wren looked at the hand extended toward him, but he kept his own by his side, unmoving. His cold gaze locked onto Ryan, unyielding and scrutinizing. The tension he exuded was heavy, pressing down like an unseen weight.
Wren's gaze cut straight through Ryan, leaving him exposed and on edge, as if there was nowhere to hide.
A wave of unease settled over Ryan, and a cold sweat trickled down his back. He hesitated for a moment before awkwardly withdrawing his hand, realizing the gesture was pointless.
"I know who you are," Wren said indifferently. "What were you doing just now?"
Hearing his response, both Ryan and Clara were caught off guard.
Wren knew Ryan?
Ryan stiffened as unease crept over him. Looking back on his actions just moments ago, he felt a sharp jolt of regret as clarity set in.
This was a hospital. If Clara had screamed, his reputation would have been done for. He had lost his head after being hit, letting his anger cloud his judgment.
