Wren had completely lost his patience.
"Does it make a difference?" He sneered, looking down at Ryan with an air of dominance.
The pressure of his presence crashed down like a tidal wave as he continued, "Remember, Ryan. No matter what my position is, she is not someone you can covet."
Ryan was shocked. Did he know who he was?
"I looked into your background. You do have some influence here," Wren said coldly, and his dark eyes carried a trace of disdain. "But before you lay a hand on certain people, you should think carefully… Can you really handle the consequences?"
As Ryan clenched his fists, his expression turned grim. "Are you threatening me?"
"Take it however you want."
As Wren calmly delivered his warning, Ryan felt a mix of fury and unease.
He had grown up surrounded by admiration and respect. People either feared him or went out of their way to please him.
This was the first time someone had looked him in the eye, fully aware of who he was and the power behind his name, yet still treated him like he was nothing.
Not just Wren. Franklin, too.
Who the hell was Wren?
Wren didn't care what Ryan was thinking. In fact, he had never considered him worth his attention.
"This is the only time I'll say this—stay away from her. If I find out you did anything to her or even scared her again, I guarantee neither you nor your family will have a peaceful day ahead," Wren said indifferently.
Yet the weight behind his words was impossible to ignore.
For a split second, an absurd thought crossed Ryan's mind.
