Chapter 113
Maddie and Lila stopped laughing and changed their expressions.
Lila raised her chin haughtily. “What makes you think it was us? Got any proof?”

“Exactly. You’re just panicking and looking for someone to blame,” Maddie said in a mocking tone. “We didn’t post those photos, but whoever did, wrote the truth. You’re Mr. Lodge’s fiancée, yet you cozy up to all these other men. That’s just indecent! If you’re shameless enough to do that, don’t blame others for calling you out!”
“Right! You dress provocatively and use your looks to lure then in. You deserve all the criticism!”
The two took turns piling on the insults, making Arlana laugh out loud.
Maddie frowned. “What are you laughing at?”
“I’m laughing because… Even at our age, you still don’t know defamation is a crime?” Ariana said. “There are surveillance cameras all around this place. A quick check and I’ll know exactly who pulled this stunt. Then, I can collect the evidence and go straight to the police. That’ll show whoever did this that I’m not easy to push around.”
At her words, the pair looked momentarily flustered. But La recovered quickly and said, “Ariana! Who do you think you are? You think the college will bother with a shameless woman like you?”
“Right! You think campus security is just going to hand over surveillance footage to you that easily? And you want to report the police for something so trivial? This is ridiculous!” Maddie chimed in.
Raising a brow, Ariana replied, “Didn’t you just say I’m Mr. Lodge’s fiancée? You know how much money the Lodge family invests in Glea College every year, right?”
Their faces changed color at that.
Lila snarled, “Ariana! That’s an abuse of power!”
“You’ve got it in one,” Ariana said. “I am abusing my power I have the status of Mr. Lodge’s fiancée, and I can do whatever I please. You two… just don’t have that kind of leverage.”
“You!”
“Is that so?” A cold scoff came from nearby.
Ariana’s brow creased as she heard the voice. Brian? What was he doing here?
She turned to see Brian approaching with Evelyn on his arm. It appeared he had come to drop her off at campus.
At the sight of them, Ariana’s expression gave nothing away, though her bright morning mood was now ruined.
“Evelyn!” Lila and Maddie exclaimed, quickly rushing to her side.
With Evelyn there, the two had no fear of Ariana.
