“Alright, I’ll trust you this time. Let’s meet somewhere quiet tomorrow afternoon.” Evelyn huffed.
“Thank you for your trust, Mr. Granger. See you tomorrow. Ariana hung up.
With everything arranged, she sent Victor a message as well Ariana had it all planned.
Since she couldn’t convince Brian to call off the engagement, her next move was to work through Evelyn. Once the engagement was canceled, Brian and Evelyn could do as they pleased, leaving her out of it completely.
Just like in her previous life, once Victor took an interest in Evelyn, Brian would feel threatened, and their love triangle would begin Ariana would then be free and didn’t have to be at odds with Victor.
Ariana felt confident she had played her cards well.
The next day at Gleaston University…
“Igor, is Ariana that difficult to deal with?” A group of wealthy young men lounged in a quiet corner of the campus, smoking cigarettes.
Igor scowled. “If it weren’t for Ariana, the Torrey family would already be mine! Do you think I’d be living like this otherwise?”
“Why don’t we come up with a plan to force her to hand over Torrey Co. and the family fortune?” someone suggested.
Another of the group chimed in, “Easy to say. Do you think she’d just let go of such a huge fortune?”
Women are simple. Scare her a bit, and she’ll give in. I refuse to believe that Ariana would still cling to the money!
“if her life is on the line.” Someone sneered.
Igor hesitated. After all, Ariana was just a woman. How bold could she possibly be? A little intimidation might work to get the company and inheritance from her hands.
“Leave it to me, Igor. I’ve got plenty of experience dealing with women!” someone stated confidently.
“Exactly, the rest of us can help out too. Worst case scenario, my dad can cover for me if things get out of hand. Kidnapping is no big deal. And think about it. Would Ariana dare speak up if videos of her were leaked? She’s bound to marry into the Lodge family anyway. Why would she still cling to the Torrey family? She’s so greedy.” One of them huffed.
After listening to his friends‘ ideas, Igor took the last drag of his cigarette and said, “Alright, let’s move tonight. If this works, I’ll take you all out to celebrate, my treat.
“You’re the best, Igor!” The group cheered.
Igor had long resented Ariana’s condescending attitude. He couldn’t miss the chance to knock her off a peg.
That afternoon, Ariana arranged for Victor and Evelyn to meet at a romantic restaurant.
It was 5:00 pm, almost dinnertime. She thought it was only natural to have something to eat while they were there.
She had reserved a candlelit dinner for two, setting the mood for sparks to fly between Victor and Evelyn.
