Before Ariana could finish, Evelyn interrupted, “It seems Ms. Torrey and Mr. Smith are close. I thought you were trying to help me connect with him, but it turns out you were just toying with me!”
“Ms. Granger…” Ariana began.
“Since Mr. Smith has no interest in working together, there’s no need for further discussion!” With that, Evelyn snatched the land transfer agreement from the table and stormed out.
Ariana’s expression darkened at Victor. “Victor Smith, what is wrong with you?”
Victor took a sip of his wine. “Didn’t I already make my stance clear?”
“I went out of my way to help you get the land, and you not only ruined the deal but also drove her away! Do you seriously not want that piece of land?” Ariana fumed.
“You’re right. I don’t want it,” Victor replied nonchalantly
“You!” Ariana was infuriated.
Victor calmly continued cutting into his steak. “The steak here is quite good. Would you like to try some, Ms. Torrey?”
“I’m too angry to eat!” Ariana had never met anyone as unreasonable as Victor. Evelyn had been willing to gift him a billion–dollar plot of land, and yet he refused it.
Victor gestured to Hunter who cleared Evelyn’s place.
Victor hummed. “While the collaboration with Evelyn didn’t work out, we can discuss our own partnership.”
“What do you mean?” Ariana immediately grew cautious. Anything coming from Victor had to have strings attached.
Victor smirked. “I recall the Torrey family owns a plot of land in the heart of the city, right?”
“So what if we do?” Ariana grew cautious.
“I’ve reviewed the details. I want to buy it.” Victor nodded.
Ariana froze. He wanted to buy the Torrey family’s land?
She feigned ignorance. “That land is very expensive.”
“Name your price. Whatever it is, I’ll pay ten times that amount.” Victor smirked.
Ariana was stunned. Ten times the value? This was eerily familiar.
Wasn’t Victor supposed to pay ten times the value to buy land from Evelyn as part of his pursuit of her? Why was he now offering the same deal for the Torrey family’s land?
“That land… It’s worth seven or eight billion,” she cautiously replied.
“Then I’ll pay you a hundred billion. I want the transfer agreement on my desk within three days,” Victor demanded.
He put down his glass and added, “I’ve cut the steak for you Enjoy, Ms. Torrey. See you in three days.”
With that, Victor stood and left the restaurant.
