Chapter 212
Chapter 212
Brian instinctively released his grip.
Ariana turned and walked downstairs.
“Emily, follow her,” Brian ordered.
“Yes.” Emily stalked after Ariana.
When Ariana took the stairs, Emily also opted for the stairs. Once they reached the pharmacy, Ariana realized she didn’t have a bag to carry the medication and had to take it with her hands.
One hand wasn’t enough to carry all six medicines. As expected, the medicines fell to the ground. Ariana bent down to pick them up, only to see Brian stop before her.
She took a deep breath. He was everywhere!
“Emily, pick them up,” Brian said.
“Yes.” Emily bent down and gathered all the medicines.
Ariana straightened up. “Do you find this amusing?”
“I think it’s quite entertaining.” Brian was enjoying Ariana’s disheveled state.
Ariana hurled the medicines at Brian’s face. “You think you can see me embarrassed? Never!”
Ariana turned on her heels and stomped away. But Brian grabbed her arm and snarled, “I’ve told you! You’re nothing if you’re not my fiancée. I’m giving you another chance. Will you choose to remain the powerless daughter of the Torrey family, or will you become my fiancee again?”
“Mr. Lodge, aren’t you too full of yourself?” Ariana shook off his hand, her eyes filled with disdain. “I couldn’t care less about being your fiancée and would rather be bullied. But don’t act high–and–mighty. Who knows who’ll have the last laugh?”
With that, Ariana left the hospital.
Brian felt a surge of anger at her departure. He threw the medicine to the ground in frustration.
Emily quickly tried to calm him. “Mr. Lodge, Ms. Torrey was just speaking out of anger. Please don’t take it to heart!”
“Fine. I’ll make Ariana understand she’s nothing without the!” Brian swore.
Outside the hospital, Ariana reached the street. Earlier, the academic advisor had driven her to the hospital. But now that Brian had rendered the academic advisor useless, she was left to hail a cab.
What a pathetic situation.
She cursed her terrible luck for being entangled with someone like Brian.
“Excuse me, are you Ms. Torrey?” A bodyguard approached her.
Ariana frowned. “Yes, I am: What’s the matter?”
“Our boss would like to invite you over,” the bodyguard said, gesturing toward a black Maybach parked nearby.
When Ariana’s expression turned unpleasant at the sight of the car.
