Seeing that Brian had uncovered the news, Ariana feigned an innocent expression and said, “Mr. Lodge, I don’t understand what you’re implying. How could I possibly predict the government’s plans? There’s no way I could have known about this in advance.” 

“You didn’t know? Then what’s this?” 

Brian tossed another newspaper onto the table in front of her and said “Natural spring discovered in South Gleaston! You didn’t know about this either?” 

“Really?” Ariana replied, acting surprised. “No way! I just randomly bought a piece of land. Am I going to be rich 

now?” 

“Ariana Torrey!” 

Brian’s expression darkened even further. Ariana, however, remained completely nonchalant, lounging in bed without moving an inch. 

Finally, his patience wore thin and he said in a low voice, “Lodge Co. will take this land. I’ll have the contract sent to you just sign it.”

“Sorry, but I never said I’d agree.” 

Seeing her unwillingness to cooperate, Brian’s tone grew colder. “You can’t possibly be unaware of Lodge Co’s plans for the hot spring development over the next six months, right?” 

“How would I know about Lodge Co’s future development plans?” Ariana replied in confusion. “Mr. Lodge, just because this land might turn out to be valuable, doesn’t mean you can just take it from me.” 

“I’m not taking anything from you. I’ll pay you what it’s worth.” Brian said coldly. “This project is massive- you’re not able to handle it. Taking the money and walking away is your best option.” 

Hearing this, Ariana almost laughed out loud. He was as arrogant as ever. But since he seemed so desperate for the land, she decided to have a little fun. Raising an eyebrow, she asked, “How much are you offering, then?” 

“Ten times the amount,” he replied. “You paid five billion for it–I’ll give you so billion. The land will belong to Lodge Co.” 

Hearing his offer, Ariana’s heart filled with mockery. Businessman to the core. This piece of land had already been earmarked as a government–supported development zone, with subsidies and incentives. The discovery of a natural spring only increased its value exponentially. 

At this point, the land was worth far more than 50 billion. If she were to sell it now, it could easily fetch 100 billion for another buyer. 

Brian was clearly banking on her lack of business acumen to try and cheat her out of the land. 

“Ariana, you must know the difference between Lodge Co. and Torrey Co. Just because you’ve taken control of Torrey Co. doesn’t mean you’re capable of managing such a complex project. If you keep this land, you’ll only end up losing money. Taking my offer now is the smart move. 

Brian leaned back on the sofa, his posture calm and confident, as though the negotiation was already in his favor. 

Ariana, however, shook her head and sighed. “What a generous offer. You almost have me tempted.”
