Chapter 254
Chapter 254
Elise was at least the daughter of the Quinlan family, but Flona was a complete nobody.
“Why should I refuse? If she’s obedient and would make a good wife, then it’s fine. As long as it’s not Evelyn, anyone will do.”
Belinda had originally set her sights on Ariana. However, Anana refused to behave.
In that case, it was better to find someone obedient to replace Ariana. So, in the end, Ariana would regret not holding on to the Lodge family when she had the chance.
Meanwhile, Brian stepped out of the conference room. As soon as he entered his office, he saw Elise seated inside.
He frowned. “Who told you to come in?”
“I didn’t see anyone around, so I just came in,” Elise replied with a smile.
She had prepared three dishes and a soup on the desk. They looked quite hearty.
Elise said, “I wasn’t sure what you like, so I brought a bit of everything. See if anything suits your taste.”
With that, Elise stood up.
She was about to move closer to Brian when Emily stepped in front of her. “Ms. Quinlan, Mr. Lodge is very tired. He needs some rest, so please head home for now.‘
“What do you mean? You told me to leave as soon as I arrived. I’ve waited half an hour, and you’re still telling me to leave. Aren’t you treating me a bit unfairly?!
Elise’s brow knitted. She was obviously unhappy.
Brian, though, simply walked over to his desk and picked up the office phone. He said coldly, “Come up now.”
Then, he hung up.
Elise saw the blank expression on Brian’s face and panicked
Brian spoke in a frosty tone. “I don’t like anyone entering my office without my knowledge. I also don’t like someone putting garbage on my desk”
“What did you just say?” Elise’s face went red with anger. “This is my very first time cooking for someone. Don’t you think you’ve gone too far?”
Brian’s face stayed neutral. Only when two security guards came up from downstairs did he give them a small gesture. “Take her out.”
“Yes, Mr. Lodge.”
The guards quickly stepped forward and grabbed Elise by both arms.
Elise’s face paled. “Brian Lodge! What are you doing? I’m your fiancée! What do you mean by this?”
Her shouts drew attention in the hallway. Many people came over to watch.
Brian walked toward Elise and said, “First, we only had a single meeting. I never agreed to make you my fiancée. Second, I don’t like arrogant women. In my eyes, you’re nothing. Third, from now on, stop calling yourself my fiancée. You’re not worthy of that title.”
Hearing this, all the color drained from Elise’s face.
