Chapter 253
Gwen had previously taken out a loan of 90 million, so now she was out of money.
Since Brian had broken off his engagement with Arlana, Gwen had found herself ostracized in social circles. Even the few friends who used to take her calls now ignored her
With no one to turn to, she came to Belinda.
Belinda sat primly on the couch, looking tired. “Mrs. Torrey, what brings you here?” she asked indifferently.
Gwen quickly said, “Mrs. Lodge Senior, I’m here to talk about Ariana and Mr. Lodge’s situation.”
She tried to curry favor with Belinda.
Belinda’s voice stayed cool. “That’s up to the two of them. Since they decided to end it, you shouldn’t interfere.”
She disliked Ariana’s behavior of late. She had no desire for Ariana to be a part of the family.
Gwen said hurriedly, “I know Ariana let you down, Mrs. Lodge Senior. That’s why I’m here to solve this problem for you.”
“Oh? What do you mean by that?”
“I know Ariana has been willful, and I’ve heard you’ve taken a liking to Ms. Quinlan,” Gwen said, carefully watching Belinda’s expression.
Seeing no sign of displeasure, she continued, “But Ms. Quinlan was pampered from a young age. She can’t handle any hardship. That’s nothing like my niece, Fiona. Fiona is good–tempered, obedient, and has no significant family background. She even got into Glea College thanks to Mr. Lodge’s help. I remember Mr. Lodge rescued her at the club last time. Fiona wants to repay him. Even if it means just being a maid by his side, she’s willing.” Gwen’s words were full of innuendo, but Belinda understood her intent clearly, Gwen was trying to push Fiona toward Briari.
Belinda
Jule quite the schemer, Mrs. Torrey.”
First Ariana, now Fiona. This woman’s greed seemed limitless.
However, Gwen didn’t care about the sarcasm. All she wanted was a chance to gain benefits.
Ariana wasn’t her real daughter, while Fiona was her actual blood relative.
