Ariana looked wary at the mention of Brian..

Emily said, “Mr. Lodge said he won’t be coming to accompany you for checkups anymore.”
“That’s good.”
Ariana let out a quiet sigh of relief.
“That’s good?”
Emily was stunned. Did Ariana really hate seeing Brian that much? She used to be so different.
Noticing Emily’s strange expression, Ariana explained, “He’s a busy person, so he shouldn’t waste time on me. Shall we go?”
She was eager to start her rehab. The exam was in nine days. If her right hand couldn’t hold a pen, she’d have to write with her left hand.
Emily still thought it was odd but didn’t ask any more questions. They headed downstairs together.
City Hospital had everything ready early that morning. All the professional equipment was in place, along with an expert team from overseas.
As soon as Ariana arrived, she was taken to the consultation room.
There were many people inside, but Ariana noticed the most handsome one. He looked part foreign, with deep blue eyes and a striking appearance.
Sensing her gaze, he glanced back at her.
Emily observed the exchange and wondered if she should report it to Brian.
Just then, Ariana tugged on Emily’s arm and said, “That doctor is so young. He’s one of the experts? What’s his background?”
“That’s Dr. Simon Finch, the youngest expert on the team. He might look young, but he’s almost 30.”
“30 is still pretty young.”
Ariana sighed. Even in medicine, things were so competitive. She had a long way to go if she wanted to restore hier family’s name.
While Ariana was lost in thought, Simon walked over. He smiled at Emily, then turned to Ariana. “Ms. Torrey, I need to see your hand, if that’s alright?”
“Sure,” Ariana agreed, offering her hand.
Seeing the scars, Simon was extra gentle as he moved it around. She felt no discomfort, even though it was a simple exam.
“Does that hurt?”
“No.”
“That’s good.”

“No problem.”
