After enrolling in Glea College, Ariana devoted all her energy to Brian and completely neglected her studies.

Victor didn’t miss the look of self–mockery in Ariana’s eyes
He said calmly, “Your handwriting has improved by a lot now. Stay in touch regularly, and that should suffice. You’ll stay here tonight. You don’t need to go back.”
“Wait!” Ariana suddenly asked, “What do you mean by that? Are you saying I should spend the night here?”
She looked at Victor in disbelief.
“Is there a problem?” Victor’s tone was indifferent. Glancing at his watch, he added, “Ms. Torrey, you should check the time. No one is in the mood to drive you home right now.”
“I can head back on my own,” Ariana retorted.
“No one is allowed to call a cab from my place.”
Ariana frowned. “What kind of rule is that?”
Victor replied coldly, “You know I’ve taken many lives overseas. I have plenty of enemies, and if they find out where I live, I’ll be in trouble. So, please don’t make things harder for me.”
As he said this, Ariana thought she caught a murderous glint in his eyes.
She instantly fell silent.
His villa was in a remote area; rarely did anyone pass it by. It wouldn’t take him long if he really wanted to get rid
of her.
“L… I could walk out on my own and then call for a cab,” she whispered nervously.
Victor raised an eyebrow. “If you’re brave enough to walk alone for a mile in the dead of night, feel free to do so.”
As he said this, his eyes intentionally lingered on Ariana’s injured leg, making it clear he doubted her ability to do
Ariana sighed. “Where should I sleep?”
“Turn left when you step outside and claim a room for yourself. There aren’t many empty rooms–just pick one.”
With that, Victor lit a cigar and seemed entirely uninterested in continuing the conversation.
Ariana, who didn’t like the smell of smoke, quickly grabbed a crutch and made her way out of the study.
Perhaps realizing her aversion, Victor extinguished the cigar after just one puff.
Out in the hallway, Ariana turned left and randomly chose the first room. The room was bare and spacious, with little furniture or decor–a surprisingly simple setup for a two–story villa.
She felt a little puzzled.
