Chapter 294
Ariana had no idea why Brian had suddenly lost his mind. She walked over to the table, picked up a pair of scissors, and pressed them against her neck.
This act immediately sobered Brian, who had been consumed by anger just moments earlier. His face darkened as he asked, “Do you really hate the idea of being my woman that much?”
“Yes,” Ariana replied coldly. “If you dare touch me, I’d rather die.”
Her words hit him like a punch to the chest. Ariana kept her eyes fixed on him. If he stepped even one step closer, she was ready to press the blade deeper.
Seeing beads of blood forming on her neck, Brian finally relented. He stopped in his tracks and said in an icy tone, “Fine, Ariana. From this moment on, you and I are strangers. We’ll go our separate ways, never to cross paths again.”
With that, he turned and left her apartment.
Only when the sound of his footsteps faded completely did Ariana let go of the scissors. She collapsed onto the floor, utterly drained.
“He’s insane. Brian has completely lost his mind,” she muttered, touching her bleeding lips. She couldn’t understand why Brian had suddenly become like this.
In her past life, he had despised her to the point of avoiding even the slightest physical contact. He had recoiled even from the slightest touch, going as far as to wash his hands afterward.
But… Brian was always a man of his word.
If he said they’d go their separate ways and never interact again, he meant it. The thought brought her some solace. As she stood up, she couldn’t help muttering under her breath. “What a lunatic.”
The next day arrived quickly.
Ariana received the last deposit of one million dollars into her account. Realizing what had happened, she immediately opened her WhatsApp app to check her contact list. Sure enough, Brian had blocked her.
That was fine by her.
Though it meant losing a steady income of one million dollars a day, it was worth it to sever ties with Brian.
Without hesitation, she deleted his contact information and blocked his number as well.
To fully distance herself from him, Ariana moved out of her apartment and rented a modest place near her university.
When Simon came to pick her up that afternoon, he took one look at the apartment and was at a loss for words.
Ariana noticed his expression and asked, “What’s wrong with it? It’s got greenery, a park, and even an elevator. The facilities are quite decent.”
“Ms. Torrey, if you really don’t have a place to stay, you could ask Victor to arrange something. He’d happily set you up in a top–tier apartment. But for a girl of your status, don’t you think living here is a bit of a downgrade?”
