Chapter 301
Chapter 301
You seem quite happy.”
“I’m not. You’re mistaken.”
Ariana stared at Victor intently. “I’m never mistaken.”
Expressionless, Victor turned and walked out of the room.
Hunter stepped in and said, “Ms. Torrey, let me take you home.”
“Alright.”
She couldn’t wait to leave. If she stayed any longer, William would start bombarding her with texts.
Tonight, it was obvious that Victor had other things on his mind and hadn’t paid her much attention. By the time Ariana made it downstairs, Victor was already gone.
That evening, Hunter drove Ariana back to her apartment complex. A group of elderly ladies, who often gathered downstairs to gossip, just so happened to witness the scene
They watched as she stepped out of a luxury car, and before long, another high–end vehicle pulled up. This time, another handsome man stepped out.
Frowning, William asked, “I called you. Why didn’t you answer?”
Ariana responded calmly, “I was busy.”
“How’s your leg? Are you feeling better?”
William rarely showed this much concern for her, which immediately made her wary.
“Why are you asking?” she questioned.
“The South Gleaston project can wait for now, but you need to come with me to another place. Right now.”
“Where?”
“Warto Group,” William said, pausing briefly before adding, “Which, by the way, is your company.‘
The elderly women at the complex continued to gossip as Ariana got into another luxury car.
“Young girls these days really have no self–respect.”
“She left with one guy earlier, and now she’s going off with another. A decent girl wouldn’t do that!”
“Thank goodness my grandson didn’t marry someone like her. Whoever ends up with her is doomed!”
Inside Warto Group, it was Ariana’s first time visiting her own company. Although, on paper, the company belonged to William, she knew she was the one truly in charge.
Glancing around the office, Ariana commented, “The interior design is quite nice. Thanks for setting this up.”
“No need to thank me. You paid for it, after all.”
William’s tone was indifferent, as if this was just a small matter.
“You dragged me out of here in such a hurry just to show me the office decor?”

Ariana didn’t believe for a second that William would waste time on something so meaningless.
“A lot of people are digging into your background right now, Ariana. You need to recover quickly so you can attend Warto Group’s launch gala with me.”
“I thought this wasn’t urgent. Why the sudden urgency?”
