“I’m here to pick up the study materials,”
The statement was simple and to the point. The class monitor, standing at the podium, couldn’t help but gulp as he looked at the black–suited bodyguard at the door.
“Here… Here you go,” the class monitor stammered, carefully handing over the study materials.
Without saying another word, Hunter turned and left the classroom. The moment he was gone, the classroom fell into an awkward, deathly silence,
“Who… Who was that?”
“How would I know? I told you not to send that message to the group chat, and now look what’s happened! Someone actually took it seriously!”
Although Julia had prepared the study materials, she had deliberately chosen outdated textbooks from over a decade ago as part of her plan to humiliate Ariana. If anyone actually used those materials to study, they’d surely fail miserably.
“Is Ariana even going to show up?”
doubt it. She probably doesn’t dare to show her face anymore.”
“Yeah, she’s been dumped by Mr. Lodge. If it were me, I’d be too embarrassed to come back to school too.”
The chatter around her only fueled Julia’s frustration. She stomped her foot angrily. What a shame they hadn’t been able to lure Ariana into their trap.
Meanwhile, Hunter returned to the Smith residence with the study materials.
Ariana, who had already read countless books for her exam preparation, couldn’t help but laugh when she saw the so–called study materials.
As expected, it was just another one of their childish tricks.
When Hunter noticed her casually putting the materials aside without even glancing through them, he asked curiously, “Ms. Torrey, don’t you need these materials?”
“It’s not that I don’t need them. At least the back of the pages can be used for practicing my handwriting.”
With that, Ariana flipped the pages over and began writing on the back without a second thought. Hunter looked puzzled but said nothing.
By now, the sun had begun to set, and the sky was growing darker.
Ariana stretched lazily, taking a brief break from her writing. During this time. She hadn’t even glanced at her phone. When she finally picked up her phone, she saw a new message from William, who had sent over documents regarding the South Gleaston project that needed her attention.
“Finish your writing and let me take a look,” Victor said as he approached her.
Ariana instinctively flipped her phone over. She wasn’t ready for anyone to know about the South Gleaston property.
“I think I’ve made some real progress today. What do you think, Mr. Smith?” Ariana said as she calmly handed over her handwriting practice sheets.
