Chapter 303
Ariana’s suitcase had been opened at some point.
Seeing this, she frowned and asked, “What are you doing?”

The middle–aged woman, who had been rifling through her things, didn’t even act apologetic. Instead, she sneered, “I’m terminating your lease. You’re no longer allowed to stay here!”
Ariana let out a sharp laugh in disbelief! “I paid for this place. What gives you the right to kick me out?”
“I own this apartment. If I say you have to leave, then you have to leave!”
The landlady’s face twisted into a mean, self–righteous expression. “This is a respectable home–I can’t have someone like you staying here. If I let you stay, what if future tenants get infected by whatever filth you bring in? Do you think I can still rent this place out?”
“What exactly are you implying? What filth?”
“Oh, don’t play dumb! The whole complex knows about you! You moved in yesterday, and you’ve already had three different men coming in and out! Who knows what kind of trash you’ll bring into my place next?”
Her words were downright disgusting.
Ariana’s expression turned icy. “Watch your mouth!”
“Why? Did I say something that wasn’t true? I’m telling you now–you are moving out today, whether you like it or not!”
“I can leave. But you went through my belongings without permission. And you’re evicting me without cause- that’s a breach of contract. If you don’t give me a proper explanation, I’ll call the police.”
“Go ahead! Call the police! You think I’m scared?”
The landlady was arrogant and unyielding.
Their argument had already drawn the attention of the neighbors. Many had opened their doors to watch the commotion, while those on the upper floors leaned over the railing to see what was happening.
At that moment, Fiona, who had come back to collect her things, also witnessed the scene. She lived upstairs.
The moment she saw Ariana being thrown out and heard the mention of the police, panic flickered across her face.
She had been the one spreading rumors about Ariana earlier that day.
If the police got involved, they would definitely look into Ariana’s situation. And since she had just been taken out of the police station by Brian a few days ago, it wouldn’t take much to connect the dots.
Fiona quickly rushed down the stairs and stepped between them, putting on a sweet and apologetic face. “Mrs. Knox, please calm down! She’s my cousin. Can you do me a favor and let her stay for just another day or two? Just until she finds a new place?”
Seeing Fiona, Chloe’s sharp expression softened slightly. Fiona had always been a well–behaved tenant who knew how to sweet–talk people. She and the landlady had a fairly good relationship.
Hearing that Ariana was her cousin, Chloe frowned. “She’s your cousin?”
