Chapter 304
Chloe glanced at the red bills in her hand, then finally relented. “Fine, she can stay one more night. But she needs to be out by tomorrow morning! My apartment isn’t some cheap motel for just anyone to stay in. I don’t need bad luck ruining my place!”
The surrounding neighbors whispered among themselves, throwing glances full of disdain at Ariana. In their eyes, she was far from a respectable woman.
Ariana found the whole scene amusing. She hadn’t even cared for the luxury apartment Brian had arranged for her, let alone this run–down complex.
Without another word, she pulled out her phone and dialed the police’s number. The crisp, distinct sound of the dial tones filled the air, making everyone around them pause.
Chloe’s face twisted in anger when she realized Ariana was calling the police. “Oh, you wanna call the cops? Great! I should’ve reported you first–for prostitution! Look at this crazy woman, everyone! Can you believe this? She’s actually calling the police on me!”

“Exactly! Who does she think she is? Acting all high and mighty like people are dying to be related to her!”
“Ungrateful brat! Someone’s helping you, and you treat them like trash? You should be kicked out and left homeless!”
The voices around her grew louder, merging into a storm of judgment and ridicule.
Just then, the call connected.
A calm voice came from the other end. “Hello, this is the police. How can we assist you?”
“My residence has been broken into, my belongings have been tampered with, and my reputation has been slandered. I request immediate police intervention. Also, have your chief take this call.”
The officer on the line hesitated for a moment. It wasn’t every day that someone called the emergency line and demanded to speak to the police chief.
Was this woman someone important?
The watching neighbors exchanged confused glances. Calling the police was one thing–but asking for the chief? Did she think she was some kind of big shot?
“I’m sorry, but our chief is currently occupied and not at the station. However, we’ll dispatch officers to your
