Ariana’s expression was dark. She started, “This isn’t-”

Gwen cut her off. “Ariana would never fall for someone else when she’s so in love with you, Mr. Lodge! There must be a misunderstanding here!” 

“It does seem that way,” Brian said sarcastically as he picked up the things that had fallen to the floor. There were merchandise items along with the photos. 

“I’m sure you can tell how much Ariana likes you, Mr. Lodge Mrs. Lodge Senior also adores her, so the engagement…… 

“Calling off the engagement is a done deal, Ms. Lambert. M. Lodge and I will end things on a nice note, and he’ll stop attacking our family because of our past relationship. Isn’t that right, Mr. Lodge?” Ariana gave Brian an opportunity to resolve this mess without things getting ugly. 

Brian held onto a bolster and asked, “When did I ever say anything about calling off the engagement? 

“You” Ariana started. 

“Also, who told you it’s a done deal?” He sneered. “Are you trying to use reverse psychology on me so I’ll call off the engagement and let you get together with William? Dream on.” 

“Mr. Lodge, you made it clear that

“I may not like you, but I didn’t say anything about not marrying you. I’ll hold a press conference in a couple of days to explain the whole debacle on that.” 

Ariana protested, “But you-” 

“I’ll leave the preparations to you, Mrs. Torrey. I don’t want to see a repeat of what happened before,” Brian said. 

“Don’t worry, Mr. Lodge. I guarantee nothing like that will happen again!” Gwen exclaimed. 

Ariana’s expression turned hideous. In her past life, Brian had refused to get engaged with her despite her clinging to him and throwing herself at him. Now that she’d been reborn, why was he the one who was so insistent on going through with the engagement? 

Once Brian was gone, Gwen said in delight, “This is great! We’ve finally secured the position of being Mr. Lodge’s wife!” 

There wasn’t a hint of a smile on Ariana’s face. She walked toward the boxed everything inside, and dragged 

it out of the house. 

This took Gwen aback. “What are you doing now?” 

She watched as Ariana started a fire in the backyard and burned the whole box. She cried, “Have you lost your mind, Ariana? What are you doing? Why are you acting like this when Mr. Lodge has already made it clear that he won’t hold you accountable for what happened?” 

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Ariana turned to give her a sharp look. It instantly made her shrink 

back. 

Ariana said, “This is my first and last time warning you, Ms Lambert. Don’t go into my room without my permission.” 

“You…” Gwen paled in fright when she met Ariana’s sharp gaze. The latter had never looked like this in the past.
