Chapter 314
When Fiona said that, the others looked a bit let down. They tried not to show it too much in front of her.
They were all trying to meet wealthy men from high society. That was the quickest and most effective way to move up in life.
“Alright. You rest here. When the person delivers the streets and comforter, I’ll have him help tidy your room.
Fiona nodded. She took this convenience for granted.
Just then, there was a lock at the door.
The roommate thought it was the delivery of bedding. She went to open the door, but it wasn’t her family’s helper. It was Julia and Evelyn.
“Evelyn? Julia?**
The roommate’s eyes shone when she saw them. Julia was well–known enough, but Evelyn was a real star on campus. She was practically every boy’s dream girl.
Fiona heard the voices from inside the room and became nervous.
Evelyn? Why was Evelyn here all of a sudden?
Fiona remembered the time in Lodge Co. when Evelyn suppressed her. She felt a sudden rush of anxiety.
“We’re just here to check the dorm. Did you bring someone in a while ago?”
The dorm had its own rules. If someone hadn’t paid for a room, they weren’t allowed to stay in that building.
Students living there were all from rich or prominent families, so if a stranger sneaked in, nobody would be happy.
The school didn’t want to upset these daughters of wealthy families. They made rules long ago that nobody could live here without paying.
Evelyn was the head of the student council. The dorm manager told her about this, so she came to see what was going on.
“Evelyn, this is a classmate of mine. She doesn’t have a place to stay right now, so I asked her to stay for a few days. She’ll move out soon.”
“A classmate? What’s her name? I need to make a record,” Julia said.
Julia had always been a bully at heart.
At Glea College, older students had higher status. New students rarely dared provoke them.
Hearing Julia ask, the roommate said right away, “Her name is Fiona Piper. She’s just here for a few days. Then, her boyfriend will pick her up.”
“Boyfriend?” Evelyn spoke suddenly. She was usually gentle and quiet, and her smile made her seem even more approachable.
“Yes. Fiona’s about to get engaged, but her fiancé’s family doesn’t want to damage her reputation, so they haven’t let her move in yet. I think it won’t be much longer.”
Before the roommate could keep talking, another girl noticed something was wrong and hurried to say, “Evelyn, we’re sorry. How about 1 pay for Fiona’s stay for a few days? Then, she’ll leave.”
