Evelyn couldn’t help but panic. She had just been standing up for Julla, and now everyone knew she was the one behind framing Ariana.
“Whether it was a joke or not, it doesn’t help Mr. Gall’s reputation. It’d be best if this were just a misunderstanding. But if it’s bullying, someone might end up like Maddie. Having this happen before the graduation exam won’t be good for Mr. Gail or Glea College right?
Ariana’s meaning was clear. If they kept pushing, Julla might end up in serious trouble.
Evelyn had no choice. “Mr. Gail, it’s almost graduation. Even if there are grudges, we should settle them. Why don’t we drop it this time and pretend we never came here’ll make Julia apologize to Ms. Torrey.”
By saying that, Evelyn indirectly admitted Julia tried to frame Ariana.
Julia bit her lip, glaring unhappily. It was Evelyn who pinched her wrist and urged her to target Ariana, but now it looked like she was the villain. She felt more furious than ever.
Still, the dean didn’t want to blow this up. He agreed with Evelyn’s suggestion. “You really are a thoughtful student council president. I have other matters, so I’ll leave this to you.”
With that, the dean stood and left the office.
As everyone was leaving, Ariana and Evelyn’s eyes met.
In Ariana’s memories of her past life, Evelyn never saw her as a threat. Maybe Evelyn simply thought she was too insignificant to matter.
But this time, Evelyn gave Ariana a look of outright hostility.
Maybe fate was already changing
“Julia…”
They had barely stepped outside when Julia shook off Evelyn’s hand.
She snapped, “You told me to use this method against Ariana, and now you’re walking away like it’s none of your business. So, you get to look good, while I’m left to take the blame. Mr. Gail knows I tried to frame Arlana, and I ruined his reputation. Who knows what he’ll do to me about the exams!”
Julia stormed off. She didn’t care about Evelyn’s reputation in front of the council members.
Evelyn’s face looked grim.
On campus, the male students admired her like a goddess, while the female students saw her as a kind and gentle leader. This was the first time she had ever been humiliated like this in front of everyone.
She blamed Ariana for all of it.
When nobody was watching, Evelyn clenched her fists, swallowing her anger.
