Chapter
Brian’s face fell.
Emily stepped forward and hesitantly asked, “Mr. Lodge… Ms. Torrey… left.”
“I’m not blind. I can see.” Brian found the warning tape in front of him annoying at that moment. His tone sharpened. Take all of this down. It’s an eyesore.”
Emily pouted to herself. Didn’t Brian order them to put these up? Why was he now acting like it irritated him?
“Oh, right. Have you investigated where Ariana has been staying recently?” Brian asked.
“Mr. Lodge, didn’t you say you wouldn’t concern yourself with anything related to Ms. Torrey? So, I…” Emily trailed off.
Brian glared at her. “Just because I didn’t ask doesn’t mean you don’t need to know. No matter what, Ariana was once my fiancée, and her matters are tied to Lodge Co.’s reputation! From now on, you should report everything about her to me!”
“…Yes, Mr. Lodge.” Emily had no choice but to comply.
With final exams approaching, Julia was quickly expelled from the university and wasn’t allowed to take her graduation exams.
But on the day of the exams, Ariana unexpectedly showed up in the examination hall.
The students were stunned to see her. Wasn’t it rumored that Ariana had injured her hand and wouldn’t attend the finals? Why was she here?
Ariana ignored the curious gazes and walked straight to her designated seat in the exam hall.
Her wrist was still wrapped in gauze, and she limped as she walked. Her right hand couldn’t even hold a pen.
Many students glanced at her, wondering how she planned to take the test in her condition.
Soon, the teachers distributed the exam papers.
Selena was also worried about Ariana. She had hoped to sit next to her. However, with the number of students taking the exam, they were seated according to assigned numbers, leaving Selena far from Ariana.
The exam hall grew tense as everyone focused on their answers.
Back at Lodge Co., Brian was in the middle of a meeting when he suddenly glanced at his watch.
He frowned and asked, “Has Glea College’s exam started?”
Emily had checked the schedule beforehand. She looked at the time and nodded. “Yes, it started ten minutes ago.”
The people in the conference room exchanged glances, puzzled by Brian’s sudden inquiry.
Brian closed the document in his hand. “The meeting’s over.”
The abrupt dismissal left everyone stunned.
Why did Brian end the meeting so suddenly? They were in the middle of discussing a critical project!
Emily quickly followed behind Brian. “Mr. Lodge, are we heading to Glea College?”
“I’m the college’s biggest investor. Is there a problem with me inspecting the graduation exams?” Brian huffed.
