Chapter 344
Upon hearing that a guest would be inspecting the exam, the students around the room tensed up.
Since when were guests allowed to observe exams?
A few students who had been preparing to cheat quickly stashed away their notes since they would face immediate expulsion if they were caught cheating at Glea College.
“Why wasn’t there any prior notice about this? Who is coming today?”
“Who knows? The school has been in chaos recently.”
A group of girls in the back row whispered among themselves, but a sharp glare from the invigilator silenced them.
Ariana paid no mind to them and was focused entirely on her exam.
Suddenly, gasps and murmurs from the female students rippled through the room
Ariana was startled by the commotion and instinctively looked up, only to see Brian standing at the door.
His gaze swept across the classroom as if searching for someone.
The principal assured him, “Our examination process is fair and impartial. There is no room for cheating here.”
Brian’s eyes quickly locked on Ariana, who was hunched over her desk, writing. She wore a simple outfit with a pair of black–framed glasses and had her hair lazily tied back. She looked unremarkable and blended into the crowd. In fact, Brian hadn’t even spotted her at first glance
Her right hand was still wrapped in gauze, and she was writing with her left. It was clear she was struggling. She had to pause and shake her hand to relieve the stiffness every couple of minutes.
Brian had never seen Ariana in such a state before, and couldn’t help but stare.
“Isn’t that Mr. Lodge? Why is he here?”
“He’s never attended an exam inspection before. He’s probably here for Evelyn.”
“No way. Evelyn is sitting in the back. But I swear, it looks like he’s been staring at…”
Before the students could finish, the invigilator cleared their throat loudly, silencing them.
Ariana had no time to worry about Brian’s presence. All she knew was that her hand was no longer responding properly due to her nervousness.
She could control her left hand well in the past few days. But today, her nervousness was making it difficult. After writing just a few lines, stiffness had already set in
From his spot near the podium, Brian quickly noticed Ariana’s struggle. His brows furrowed. “Why is a disabled person taking this exam?”
The principal broke into a nervous sweat upon hearing this
A disabled person? Wasn’t she the ex–fiancée Brian had been protecting all this time?
