Chapter 347
Evelyn froze when she saw the cheat sheet on the ground.
She had thought it was lost, but who would have expected it to end up in Brian’s hands?
“The principal told me that your grades have dropped, so checked your test paper. The invigilator found this note on the ground nearby. This is your handwriting Are you still going to deny it?” Brian placed the evidence right in front of her.
“Brian… Let me explain…” Evelyn forced herself to stay calm.
But Brian had already heard enough of her explanations. “I don’t think there’s anything left for us to talk about.”
He returned the cheat sheet to Evelyn, then turned around and signaled for Emily to open the car door.
“Brian!” No matter how desperately Evelyn called after him, Brian had no intention of getting out of the car.
“Mr. Lodge, isn’t this too harsh on Ms. Granger?” Emily asked.
“Haven’t I tolerated her enough? Look at what she’s done. How do you expect me to cover for her?” The Evelyn he used to know would never stoop to cheating, let alone in such an important graduation exam.
Emily stopped trying to persuade him.
Brian rubbed his temples, exhausted.
“Mr. Lodge, what about Ms. Torrey?” Emily asked.
Ariana was taken away in front of all the students, which would surely make many believe she had received special treatment. This wouldn’t be good for her reputation
“She’s not innocent.” Brian hadn’t expected William and Victor to help Ariana cheat.
He thought Ariana was determined to graduate fairly despite being unwell. But he had overestimated her. There was no such person in their world.
Meanwhile, Ariana had just reached the school gate when she spotted Victor sitting in a limited–edition Maybach.
As the window rolled down, she caught sight of his sharp side profile.
Victor turned to glance at Ariana while the latter pretended not to see him.
Everything about her posture screamed she was ignoring him.
“Hunter.” Victor hummed from inside the car.
Hunter quickly caught on. He opened the car door and walked toward Ariana.
Ariana had been trying to act like she hadn’t noticed anything, but Hunter stepped in front of her, blocking her path. “Ms. Torrey, Mr. Smith is waiting for you in the car.”
Noticing that students were gathering, Ariana didn’t want to draw any more attention. After all, everyone already believed she had received special treatment during the exam, which was why the principal had arranged a separate exam room for her.
If the students saw her getting into Victor’s car, they would think even worse of her.
