“Your hand is injured. Can you even chop vegetables?” Simon spoke with a serious tone. “As a doctor, I’d advise you to let someone else do it. What if your hand slips and you chop off a finger?”
Ariana hadn’t considered this. But now that Simon brought it up, she realized it made sense to find someone to help. Naturally, she turned her gaze toward Simon.
Seeing her expectant look, Simon immediately raised his hands in defense. “My knife skills aren’t as good as Victor’s. I’ll get him to help you.”
Without giving her a chance to object, he quickly headed upstairs, wanting nothing to do with the kitchen.
Simon knocked on Victor’s door upstairs. After receiving no response, he shouted, “Victor, come out! Go downstairs and help Ms. Torrey chop vegetables!”
Then, he lowered his voice and muttered, “This is your chance to shine! I worked hard to get this opportunity for you. Hurry up and open the door!”
Hunter emerged from the opposite room and cocked a brow at Simon, who was practically glued to Victor’s door. What are you doing, Dr. Finch?”
“I’m trying to get your boss out.” Simon sighed. “I finally found the perfect chance for him to show off his charm. Her hand is injured, so she can’t hold a knife properly. And since Victor’s knife skills are top–notch, it’s the perfect opportunity…”
Before he could finish, a sudden clang echoed from downstairs. It sounded like the sound of a knife hitting the
floor.
The noise was so jarring that Victor immediately opened his door and strode downstairs without a word.
Simon’s expression changed. “Oh no!”
The group hurried downstairs. They saw Ariana bent over, picking up the fallen kitchen knife.
Still crouched, she looked up at the group rushing in.
Seeing their reactions, she blinked in confusion and explained, “I just lost my grip…”
Simon was speechless. He had seriously thought she had hurt herself.
Victor stepped forward, picked up the knife, and walked to the cutting board. He glanced at the washed vegetables, then at the menu beside them. Without saying a word, he simply started chopping.
