“Oh my goodness. Even with Brian protecting her, Evelyn is way too bold. How dare she secretly change her final exam answers? That’s terrible! I don’t think anyone in Glea College’s 100–year history has ever done something like that!” Selena exclaimed. 

Selena could hardly imagine what punishment Evelyn would face if this were exposed. 

Expulsion might be the best–case scenario. The university could even blacklist her completely. No school would want a student with such a notorious reputation. 

“So, how can we catch her?” Selena asked. “Today is the last exam, and it’s going to be harder than yesterday. I bet many students won’t know the answers. Evelyn might be afraid she’ll fail, so she might repeat her trick by sneaking into the office to alter the exam paper. Should we stake out and catch her in the act?” 

Ariana shook her head. “This is too big for Evelyn to pull off alone. She must have accomplices in the student. union, probably those closest to her. If we go on our own and they catch us, they could turn things around and accuse us of altering the exam answers. Don’t forget, they’re student union members. They have authority over regular students and outnumber us. If they insist they caught us cheating, what can we do then?” 

“This is so frustrating! Why can’t we do anything? We can’t just stand by and let them alter the exam answers so everyone passes easily. That’s not fair at all!” Selena complained. 

Ariana said, “This exam is extremely difficult this time. The school isn’t stupid. They wouldn’t design such hard questions just to lower the graduation rate. I believe that although the exam is challenging, the passing mark will be lower. That is probably an internal decision that we students don’t know about yet.” 

“That’s true. If they don’t lower the passing mark, I bet the graduation rate would be cut in half.” 

“We’ve thought of this, but Evelyn might not have. She’s the president of the student union and is the most authoritative student leader. Her grades have always been among the top over the years. She wouldn’t want her graduation scores to look bad. So, she’ll definitely alter the exam papers to make sure she has the highest scores in the entire school.” 

Ariana was very certain that Evelyn would alter the exam paper again. But since there was no standard answer, Evelyn could only search through other students‘ exam papers for answers. 

Ariana was confident that her exam paper was at least ranked in the top three. 

Moreover, the final question wasn’t one that just anyone could answer. If Evelyn happened to copy her answer, then things would have become much more interesting. 

Besides, Ariana knew Evelyn well. Evelyn would never have let her graduate so smoothly. But what method she might have used was uncertain.
