“That’s just one of her tactics. She’s trying to get with William to make me regret everything. There’s no need to be bothered by such petty schemes,” Brian explained. 

“Ms. Torrey, that’s your lounge.” A staff member’s voice caught Brian’s attention. 

Ariana walked in wearing a fitted black dress that highlighted her elegance. Her hair was styled in waves behind her back. Her beauty was breathtaking even with minimal makeup. 

Even the staff couldn’t help taking a second look. 

Ariana said, ““There’s no need. Let’s start as soon as possible. 

“Understood. We’ll start right away.” 

The door to the lounge opened, and Ariana turned to see Evelyn step out. The latter was dressed in a class Chanel outfit that radiated a gentle and refined demeanor. 

“I’m so sorry about yesterday, Ms. Torrey.” Evelyn apologized, but her actions seemed deliberate as she subtly allowed Ariana to catch a glimpse of Brian in the lounge. 

Even at a time like this, Evelyn still felt the need to declare her claim over Brian. How unnecessary. 

“I’ve tried persuading Brian, but he…” Evelyn paused with a troubled expression. 

“I hope you won’t hold it against him,” she said as she stepped forward and clasped Ariana’s hand. 

Ariana glanced at the hand Evelyn held and quietly withdrew. Then, she smiled and said, “You’re overthinking There’s nothing going on between me and Brian. 

“Breaking off the engagement is something I’m more than happy about, so why would I hold it against him?” 

Seeing the lack of sentiment in Ariana’s eyes for Brian, Evelyn smiled. “That’s good to hear.” 

“Ms. Torrey, it’s time for you to go onstage.” A member of staff walked up to Ariana, who nodded and followed them in the direction of the stage. 

“Everything’s ready, Mr. Lodge.” 

Brian responded with a soft hum before getting up and heading for the stage. 

Evelyn remained in place and watched the two head up the stage to clarify the situation. Her heart raced with anticipation. 

She couldn’t help but wonder how great it would be if they could officially break off the engagement today. 

The stage was illuminated by countless flashing cameras as Ariana and Brian took their seats on opposite sides. 

“Good afternoon, Mr. Lodge and Ms. Torrey. We’re informed that today’s conference is to clarify breaking off the engagement. Is it true that Ms. Torrey initiated this at the engagement ceremony?” 

Brian frowned at the question. Arlana had spread a rumor through Selena’s article about his supposed dysfunction which sparked a wave of gossip. 

Though they’d managed to hold it down, the topic raised questions. Now everyone waited for Ariana’s response.
