Ariana parted her lips, but Belinda had already waved at her before she could explain herself. 

Belinda stated, “You need to hurry up and give me a great–grandbaby, Ariana.” 

Evelyn’s eyes reddened more when she heard Belinda’s words. In the next second, she bawled while running out of the Lodge family’s gates. 

“Eve!” Brian ran after Evelyn right away. Before leaving, he snapped his head to glower at Ariana. 

Only a grim expression showed in Ariana’s eyes. 

Although she wasn’t afraid of being misunderstood by Brian, she still disliked the feeling of being framed. 

Belinda knew Brian would chase after Evelyn. Even so, she wasn’t worried. She merely looked at Ariana and said, ” Sit.” 

“Did you say that on purpose earlier, Mrs. Lodge Senior?” 

Belinda wasn’t offended by the accusatory tone in Ariana’s voice. She responded, “The deed is already done. You’re now the Lodge family’s granddaughter–in–law. You needn’t worry because Evelyn can never threaten your position” 

Evelyn couldn’t threaten her position? Belinda was truly something else for pulling this stunt. Her one sentence was enough to make Brian doubt me. She was forcing her to be the Lodge family’s granddaughter–in–law. At the same time, she was preventing Ariana from escaping her control. 

Ariana couldn’t help but recall how she used to model herself after Evelyn in her past life. Belinda knew it but never stopped her from doing so. That was because Belinda knew she could never win Brian’s heart, even if she resembled Evelyn to a tee. 

As for Ariana, she could only keep trying to please Belinda in hopes of becoming Brian’s fiancee, 

Ariana used to think Belinda genuinely cared about her. Who would have known the Lodge family’s members were all capable of such extreme schemes? 

“I’m heading home if there’s nothing else you need, Mrs. Lodge Senior.” Ariana then gathered her clothes and left the Lodge residence at once. 

Belinda couldn’t help but frown after seeing Ariana behave that way. 

Francine, who stood beside Belinda, spoke up just then. “Mrs. Lodge Senior, that Ms. Torrey is getting harder and harder to control. I used to think she was an obedient kid, but I never would’ve guessed-” 

“She’s still better than that Evelyn,” Belinda pointed out co dly. “We’ll just have to make do.” 

When Ariana returned to the Torrey residence, Gwen was already waiting there. Her eyes lit up after seeing Brian’s shirt on Ariana. “Aril Did you do it last night….?” 

Ariana couldn’t be bothered to look at Gwen’s money–hungry expression. She merely scowled and wanted to go upstairs. 

Gwen instantly followed Ariana when the latter was about to leave. She asked, “Have you already slept with Mr. Lodge, Ari? I knew you’d be able to do it! Does that mean our family will no longer be at risk? Have you told Mr. Lodge about our company’s crisis?”
