Chapter 205 

BOOK 2: CHAPTER 75 

Rowan’s POV 

I heard about King Ryker long before I met him. He was a generation above mine and the owner of the longest–standing Rogue Pack in the world. One thing that preludes his popularity was his arrogance and how he was proud of being proud. 

Watching Alpha Darius refer to him as just Ryker kind of raised my respect bar for the man. Everyone knew how brutal King Ryker could be if you didn’t show your respect for him. 

“Fine, let’s this over with,” he grumbled. He’d tightened the hold of the handshake but I didn’t budge. He wanted me to submit but I didn’t. 

“Perfect,” I gave him a smirk and we separated. 

We went over the plans again and decided Ella and Reina would wait outside the borders while the rest of us would visit them. No matter how much we hate these people, Reina and Ella knew them all their lives. To avoid unnecessary sentiments and blackmail, we had to keep the two of them outside. Even though we suggested someone stay with them, the two girls insisted they were fine. 

We drove off to the Red–Eyes border and did as planned. 

King Ryker and Alpha Reign led the way into the pack. We had to follow Ella and Reina’s instructions on how to go through the valley to get to their pack and not long enough, we got in. 

It was sinister and eerie. There was a symbol of a wolf with a bead. The same tattoos that Mikea’s dad had were everywhere. You could see the kids walking around without emotions in their eyes. 

They all stopped at the same time and turned to stare at us. 

“What is this? A freak show?” King Ryker asked. 

“Was Reina like this too when she first came?” Alpha Darius asked 

I looked away, not wanting to give the man another nightmare he wouldn’t recover from. It was better if he didn’t see his daughter through them. Reina had come a long way. Both her and Ella. 

One of them walked towards us. 

“Who are you?” 

“We’re here to see the Chief. Can you be kind enough to direct us to them or do I have to snap your neck to make the rest take me seriously?” King Ryker threatened. 

They’re innocent, don’t hurt them,” I told them, based on what Reina had told me. 

“We wouldn’t attack first, remember that Ryker,” Alpha Darius acled. 

“Fine,” he grumbled. “But you all should remember if anyone sees that bastard called Zack, he’s mine.” 

“I call dibs on Mother or whoever she is,” Alpha Darius added. 

1 gritted my jaw. The Chief or should I say Mika’s father was who I wanted and I couldn’t wait. 

“You’ve not been granted permission into this pack. You should ave,” The girl answered, pointing in the direction where we came from.

Alpha Reign turned to us. “You guys still want to play nice,” he asked rhetorically. 

That was the only thing we needed to hear. We charged towards them and as much as possible, we tried to avoid hurting them. The entire thing happened so fast that I didn’t believe it did. Fighting alongside Alphas might be the best thing to ever witness. If I had a bucket list, I’d be sure to tick that one off. 

Alpha Darius was able to succumb to one of the boys who pointed us to the chief’s office. 

“That’s your fight, son,” Alpha Darius urged me to go ahead while they asked about Zack and Mother from the boy. 

I knew Mika was right behind me but I didn’t stop. I got to the door, kicked it open, and saw him sitting right there. 

I believed he was in the middle of a meeting because the shock on his face when he saw me made it obvious that he was oblivious to the ruckus outside his door. 

I walked closer to him and true to my belief, he was in a meeting with some other men. I waved at them, closed the laptop. and took it back to the other end of the long table. 

Mika walked in. 

“Hello, Father, 

“What a surprise, Mika and Rowan. What are you both doing here?” 

I sat on a chair and crossed my legs, waiting for the father–daughter reunion to be over. 

“The question should be, why are you here and How the f*ck are you even the Alpha or chief or whatever?” She screamed. “There are some things you won’t understand at your age,” He stated in his usual, cool, tone that’ll make you believe he was an angel. 

“Really, father? That’s all you can say, Mika slammed her hands on the desk, right in front of him. “Start explaining. 

He laughed. “I don’t have any explanation for you, Mika. The same way you followed your dreams by starting a rogue pack 

I followed my dreams,” with Rowan is the same way 

“Only Alpha’s leads packs. You’re not an Alpha. You’re a manipulator, a devil, and a horrible person. You brainwashed those kids into believing they were somebody else,” 

“Shush, don’t say words like that about your father,” He cautione 

“I’ve always tried in my own way to help you, to protect you. I’d always paid for your sins, I made myself a retribution because of the sins you committed but not anymore. This time, you get to pay for everything you’ve done,” 

Mika said with tears slipping down her eyes. 

Before she walked out of the room in tears, she stared at me and nodded. Was that an approval from her to kill her father? Or was it not? 

Honestly, either way, he was still going to die. 

“What are you doing here, Rowan?” He suddenly asked me. 

“To get revenge,”

“For what? For loving you?? 

I laughed. “Yeah, right. You loved me in the way my father couldn’t and no one else would. You really did in a sick and 

barbaric manner. 

“My ways are always divine,” he said gently 

“I’m sure it is.” 

“You know, I tried helping your mother as well but she wasn’t as willing as you were. She didn’t enjoy my love as much? you did. 

I closed my eyes and charged towards him. He was trying to mess with my head as usual but I wouldn’t let him this time. 

I slammed him into the floor and my claws protruded. Out of blind anger, I began punching him, tearing his skin apart. I heard him yelling but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was the number of years he made my life a living hell. 

With the way he was screaming for help, I expected some interruptions but nothing came. 

I wanted to claw his heart out next but I stopped as a lone tear rolled down my eyes and I screamed in a way I should’ve when I was little. It was that of pain and anguish and self–hatred that I’d lodged in my heart for a long time. 

A hand suddenly touched my shoulder. 

“That’s enough son, I’ll take over from you,” I shrugged his hand off me. It was the King 

“Get away from me, Your Highness,”

He wasn’t any better than Mika’s father. He couldn’t protect his mate or his son from this devil and now, he wanted me to 

trust him. 

“Son,” he called. 

“You lost to right to call me your son the moment you turned your back on me -The moment you believed him over me. So, leave me alone while I fight my battles,” I spal 

I removed the pocket knife from my pants and went after Mika’s father. He’d managed to crawl to another part of the room.
