Cynthia was speechless at Anthony’s baffling behavior. If it weren’t illegal, she would have dissected his brain to understand why he couldn’t grasp simple conversations. 

She looked at the nearly finished dishes on the table and felt no desire to continue eating. 

Bernard noticed that something was wrong between them, but since it was Cynthia’s private affair, he refrained from commenting and made an excuse to leave. 

Cynthia didn’t like Anthony and wanted to leave with Bernard. 

However, Anthony wouldn’t let her leave like this. Arnis had been clinging to him these past two days, making it impossible for him to break away and find her. 

Anthony stood in front of the door with his eyes full of ambiguity. “Cynthia, don’t you have anything to explain to me?” 

Cynthia took two steps back and kept a distance from Anthony, looking confused and unhappy. “We’re not close. Why should I explain anything to you?” 

Anthony wasn’t annoyed by her resistance. He put his hands in his pockets lazily and leaned against the door, wearing a rascal’s expression that said, “I’ll keep waiting until you remember.” 

Cynthia clenched her fists, using every ounce of patience she had to resist swinging them at his face. 

Suddenly, someone outside the private room muttered, “Strange, I clearly saw him coming this way, but now he’s nowhere to be seen.” 

It was obviously Arnis, who spoke broken Clusian. 

Cynthia raised her eyebrows. It turned out that Anthony had suddenly barged in to hide from Arnis. It seemed her earlier plan was correct. Arnis must have been annoying Anthony these past two days, causing him, the CEO of Clara Group, to hide and evade like this. 

Cynthia narrowed her eyes slightly. When she was about to open her mouth, a pair of big hands reached out and covered her mouth directly. “Be quiet. He’s been annoying me to death these past two days,” Anthony whispered into her ear while keeping an eye on the commotion outside.

Hunk had investigated Arnis‘ background. He was the Vice President of MS Group abroad and brother to the CEO of MS Group. Cynthia’s mouth was covered, leaving only two eyes rolling. “Let go of me,” she mumbled. 

Anthony lowered his head and stared at Cynthia’s side face. Her eyes were big and bright, and her eyelashes were long like a small fan.

Everyone was afraid that something bad would happen, so they knocked on the door together. 

Anthony covered his heart 

shouted irritably, “Piss off!” 

The knock on the door stopped abruptly and came again after a few seconds. 

Arnis recognized Anthony’s voice. He asked anxiously, “Mr. Clara, did you make that sound just now? Are you okay?” 

Anthony rubbed his head in frustration upon hearing the voice. “Even if I die, it’s none of your business. Can you please stop bothering me?” 

“No, I’m here for you. I’ll be sad if you die,” Arnis said.
