Chapter 171
Arnis looked at Cynthia’s face. “Well, I’ll trust you this time.”
Cynthia breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the leftovers on the table, she asked, “Have you eaten yet? How about I order more dishes for you?”
Arnis looked at the time and shook his head sadly. “No need. I don’t have an appetite after losing the person I like.”
Cynthia’s heart skipped a beat, and she frowned. “Do you really like him that much?” Before this, she just wanted Arnis to pester Anthony. However, she didn’t expect him to fall for the latter. Anthony was obviously not gay and would not be giving him a favorable response. If Arnis really fell for Anthony, it was inevitable that the former would be devastated.
When Arnis recalled Anthony’s appearance, which was more attractive than a woman’s, his heart beat happily. “I don’t know how much I like him, but he made me feel the most among everyone else that I’ve met. I want to try my best before returning home.”
Cynthia whispered, “He may be straight.”
“Then I’ll change him.” Arnis was determined.
Cynthia gave a thumbs–up. “You are courageous.”
Arnis suddenly looked at Cynthia and warned, “Don’t stay in the same room with him again.”
Cynthia gestured an “Okay” sign with her fingers. Then, Arnis went back in a hurry to pursue true love.
Cynthia also took a taxi back to the hospital. In the afternoon, she operated on a patient who had checked in in the morning. The patient’s condition was so complicated that the slightest carelessness during the operation may put his life in danger.
It was almost 7 p.m. when Cynthia came out of the operating room with all her energy spent. At this time, no patients were in the hospital except for emergency treatments.
Cynthia went back to the clinic to get her bag. When she opened the door, she saw Liam sitting in a chair waiting for her. “When did you come?” Cynthia asked tiredly.
“I’ve just arrived.” Seeing Cynthia’s fatigue, Liam stood up and poured her a glass of water.
“Thank you.” Cynthia took the glass and drank it. The warm water soothed her throat, making her feel refreshed.
When she took her phone, she saw several missed calls from him. She said apologetically, “I was in the operating room the whole afternoon without my phone.”
Liam smiled. “I know. Mr. Zimmer has already told me. Did the operation go well?”
“The patient is still in the intensive care unit. So far, he’s doing well,” she replied.
Liam came over to hug Cynthia and took her purse from the table. “Let’s go. You’re tired.”
Then, they returned to Regalian Garden. Cynthia had a simple meal and went directly back to her room for rest. That night, Liam held Cynthia in his arms and did nothing else.
Cynthia woke up early the next morning because she had gone to bed early. It was only 7:30 a.m. She turned around and didn’t see Liam. She reached out to touch the cold sheet, which showed that he had been up for a long time. Cynthia frowned slightly.
Liam seemed very busy these days. He worked early in the morning and had to work overtime when he returned at night. She thought he was busy because the robot project had just started. Assuming it would be fine after a while, she didn’t pay much attention.
Cynthia was in the hospital all day today. When she got off work, she asked Gerald for a day off.
The next day, Cynthia didn’t sleep in. She got up as soon as the alarm rang. She was going to the Larson residence today and took back everything she had.
She picked a more modest dress, changed into high heels, and put on light makeup. Her appearance suddenly matured. Cynthia stood in front of the mirror and looked at her outfit with satisfaction. She didn’t know what excuse Mason would use today, so she had to be prepared.
A few minutes later, Cynthia drove straight from Regalian Garden to the Larson residence after breakfast.
Meanwhile, Mason, Felicia, and Roseanne are sitting at the dining table at the Larson residence. They all looked unhappy,
With a sullen face, Mason said, “If that rebellious girl comes later, you can tell her I’m on a business trip. After speaking, he ate quickly and got up to leave. Before this, he could find an excuse to postpone the matter with the shares, but now, being the last day of the deadline, Cynthia would definitely come back. She couldn’t handle the shares alone if he didn’t show up.

However, Felicia was not anxious, even when she knew that Cynthia would come. Roseanne asked softly, “Mom, that woman is so powerful now with Liam’s support. What if she really takes back the shares?”
Felicia took her soup and gave her daughter a reassuring look. “If she wants it back, let her have it. Anyway, with the current situation at Larson Group, it will go bankrupt sooner or later.”
“But then we won’t get anything.” Roseanne was worried.
After confirming no servant was around, Felicia whispered to Roseanne, “Don’t worry. I’ve found a way out. We won’t live on the street. Maybe our life will be better then.”
Hearing this, Roseanne immediately became energetic, and her eyes lit up. “Mom, can you tell me more about it?”
“I can’t explain it to you now. Anyway, just relax,” Felicia said.
Roseanne was concerned. “Will Dad come with us?”
Felicia replied, “With how he treated you, he doesn’t deserve to be a father. Do you want him to force you to accompany those investors?”

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
