Chapter 187
Liam and Cynthia returned to Regalian Garden. After dinner, Cynthia brought a medical kit to treat Liam’s shoulder, where the bruise appeared worse than it had been that morning. Cynthia applied the ointment carefully and gently while blowing air over it. The cooling ointment did alleviate Liam’s pain.
The following morning, they went out together. Liam was concerned about Cynthia and offered to accompany her to the company, but she declined. After all, Sullivan Group was a large corporation, and many staff were transferred to Larson Group over those two days. She was worried that she would be criticized if she didn’t show up for work as a boss
Later on, Cynthia gathered the shareholders again. This time, they were less arrogant and contemptuous than previously. When they entered the CEO’s office, they spontaneously addressed Cynthia, “Ms. Larson.”
Cynthia outlined the company’s current state to them clearly, adding, “If the company doesn’t have enough funds, it’ll be difficult to run even if there’s a robotics project Mr. Sullivan invested.
Yet, the shareholders were unconcerned when they learned that Instead, they took it for granted and said, “Ms. Larson, aren’t you married to Mr. Sullivan? Sullivan Group is well–off. Ask him to invest more.”
Cynthia frowned unhappily, querying. “Should he help my company without any baseline just because of our relationship? Even if I owned the entire firm, I would be embarrassed to ask him to reinvest. Then, the paused to observe their reactions.
As a result, their expressions were dismal since they expected to rely on Sullivan Group, but they weren’t expecting to deal with a conservative CEO instead. One of them asked, “What do you think should be done, Ms. Larson?”
Cynthia responded indifferently. “Since you’re all shareholders, we should work together when the company is in trouble”
“That’s impossible. They vetoed it without thinking, adding. “We just own a tiny stake in Larson Group. It now has such a large loophole that even if we lose all our money, i’ll not be covered. In that case, we might as well give up our shares.
Cynthia had been waiting for that. She lifted her eyebrows imperceptibly, persuading. That can be one of the ways. Now, the shares you own were bought from Mason illegally, it is uncertain if the share transfer will be valid. If you give up your shares, you’ll be able to get out of Larson Group’s current plight and also ask Mason to compensate you for your losses”
As soon as she finished speaking, someone was displeased, arguing. “Ms. Larson, don’t lie to us. Mason is now hospitalized. How can he compensate
Cynthia voiced calmly. “He’s hospitalized, but his wife is not. As far as I know, she has gotten significant money from Larson Group throughout the years. I’ve reviewed your share transfer contracts, and you may not be able to win if you pursue them. At worst, Mason will compensate you a small sum to resolve it. Therefore, it’s entirely up to you whether to trade these shares for money and quit or bet on Larson Group with it.”
They exchanged glances, their expression hesitant. A moment later, one of the shareholders expressed his doubts. “Could it be that you want to chase us away and let Mr. Sullivan invest in it!”
“Not at present, but I can’t guarantee it in the future, Cynthia stated truthfully.
The shareholders eventually agreed to sell their shares due to Larson Group’s existing condition, as no one was certain of its future.
After several shareholders left, Ziv called, reporting, “Mrs. Sullivan, the accountant that Mr. Sullivan asked me to investigate yesterday has gone abroad early this morning”
“In such a hurry?” Cynthia asked.
“Our men went to her place and heard from the landlord that the rent is supposed to end in half a year, but this morning she suddenly ended the tenancy without worrying about the liquidated damages,” Ziv added.
Cynthia responded, “Got it. She then got lost in thought after hanging up the phone, musing, ‘She resigned yesterday and left for abroad today. With such behaviors, I bet she had done something and feared being discovered. She sighed and massaged her forehead, reflecting a headache. She pondered, In such a vast world, it’s nearly impossible to locate her while she’s abroad, let alone track down the money. Now, I can only think of another way.
Cynthia had been analyzing at the office all day. Although Larson Group’s internal affairs remained disorganized, employees who had previously worked with Sullivan Croup had outstanding working capabilities. It didn’t worry her too much
In the afternoon, Gerald called Cynthia, saying, “Cynthia, congratulations on taking over Larson Group”
Cynthia smiled and said. “Mr. Zimmer, the company isn’t doing well right now. I may not return to work at the hospital during this time.”
“That’s okay. You can focus on your tasks first Gerald’s energetic voice came from the phone. He added, “I called you because I want to know if you’ll return to work at the hospital after everything is done”
Upon hearing that, Cynthia contemplated briefly before asking. “Mr. Zimmer, can you keep my position for me first?”

Gerald was surprised, questioning. What about your company?”
“In fact, I would rather be a doctor than manage a company. I’ll have my arrangements for the company, Cynthia explained. She had learned a lot about the company that day and realized she was truly not adept at managing it. Reading those documents made her sleepy. Now, she admired Liam’s ability to manage sach a large organization in an organized manner. So, she decided to delegate responsibility for the company to competent management while she continued to do what she enjoyed.
Gerald acknowledged Cynthia’s medical skills and was pleased to learn that she would be returning to work at the hospital in You’ll always be welcome at Peace Hospital for as long as you desire.”

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
