Febria was currently penniless and had left her phone and wallet at the Larson residence. Even if she had her wallet, she wouldn’t have enough money to compensate for the lost wages. Mason was hospitalized and was unable to fend for himself. After some consideration, she took a deep breath and made up her mind. She then hailed a taxi. When she got in the driver looked at her in the rearview mirror oddly. 

“Gorgeous, are you role–playing?” the driver asked. 

Felicia was in a bad mood and ignored him. She told him the address and said nothing 

further. 

The driver pursed his lips in disdain, complaining internally. Why is she putting on airs? She still acts like a young adult and role–plays despite her advanced age. That’s disgusting! 

After a half–hour’s journey, Felicia arrived at an underground club. The security guard standing by the door recognized her and assisted her in paying the fare. “Where is James?” she asked. 

The security guard besiuned for a while before speaking. “James is inside, resting.” 

Felicia knew how to get to his lounge and went straight inside. The security guard then quickly called James to notify him. 

James‘ club had a lot of black market dealings, which were largely done at night. Thus, there wasn’t much activity during the day. 

Felicia came to James lounge, pushed open the door, and the scent of intimacy permeated the air. Looking at the two on the bed, she became further enraged. She dashed over and angrily pulled the quilt away. She asked, “James, look at yourself. Is this your so–called promise!” 

James opened his eyes lazily and shoved the woman, who was lying on him. 

The woman caught on and got up to put on her clothes. Before leaving, she blew James a kiss and said, “James, remember to call me next time.” 

Felicia was furious and shoved the woman out before slamming the door shut. She rebuked, “I’m suffering in there, yet you’re enjoying yourself here:

Felicia, closing her eyes briefly, retorted fiercely, “You’re so stuck in your ways.” 

Smoking, James teased, “No matter how bad I am, you still come back to me. Tell me What’s the matter?” 

Felicia convinced herself not to irritate james since she could only rely on him to bail Roseanne out of the police station, even though he was a jerk. She explained. “You should’ve seen the news yesterday. My daughter has been detained by the police, and I need your help to save her 

James put out the cigarene, stood up, approached Felicia without clothes, and held her in his arms. He uttered, “Why do you think I’ll help you! I can tell Liam did it on purpose. I don’t w 

want to go against him.” 

Felicia, sensing the scent of another woman on him, held back her nausea and didn’t push him away Instead, she smiled meaningfully and whispered to James, “Because she’s your daughter” 

James froze in an instant, and his hug tightened, his eyes becoming sharp. He asked, “What did you say?” 

Felicia frowned in discomfort and repeated, “Roseanne is your daughter.” 

James looked straight into Felicia as if he was trying to figure out the truth from what she had said. After a while, he laughed and pushed her away, saying, “Felicia, you even made up such a lie to get me to help you. Do you really think I’m a fool? 

Felicia chose a clean spot and sat down, responding calmly, “Do you know why I broke up with you back then?” 

“You disliked me being a hooligan and couldn’t provide you the life you want James frowned as he thought about the past, Back then, he loved Felicia wholeheartedly, but she despised him for his lack of competence. She later hooked up with Mason and ended their relationship. He was so enraged that he imprisoned her by his side for three days, attempting to make her pregnant. Thinking about it, he glanced at Felicia and questioned hesitantly, “Could it be that you got pregnant during that time?”
