After finishing work, Liam arrived on time to pick up Cynthia. She slid into the passenger seat and, while looking out the window, realized they were not heading toward Regalian Garden. Curious, she asked, “Where are we headed?” 

Liam, concentrating on the road, replied casually, “We need to visit Master Buckley and Master Garten soon, and I want to pick up some gifts. Any ideas on what they might like!” He was keen to find something unique for Evan and Delilah, aware of their eccentric tastes and aversion to commonplace gifis. Given his recent marriage to Cynthia, Liam was conscious that they might hold some reservations about him and aimed to choose presents that would appeal to their preferences, potentially mitigating any initial disapproval 

Cynthia thought deeply, ‘Master Buckley, engrossed in his research, often finds himself strapped for cash, so a monetary gift would probably be welcome. Master Garten, on the other hand, is fascinated with studying parasites and often struggles to find subjects. If Liam really wants to impress her, he could volunteer as a subject for her studies, though it might be uncomfortable. The effects of the parasites are not fatal but can be quite distressing. With this in mind, she hesitated about taking Liam along and whispered while looking at his handsome face, “Maybe I should go back alone? 

“No, if you’re going back, we’re going together. Marrying so abruptly might have upset Master Buckley and Master Garten. I’ll face whatever they feel with you. Liam responded with determination. 

Cynthia slightly furrowed her brow and mentioned, “They’ve always been very fond of me. They’ll probably just scold me a little.” 

“Still I want to go with you. You’re the one I love. We’ve been married for some time now, and it’s important for me to meet your family and learn about your roots, Liam expressed eamestly as he expertly steered into the underground parking of a shopping mall. 

“I’ve told you about their temper, though. I’m concerned they might be harsh with you,” Cynthia remarked, worry creasing her brow as she pondered the possible outcomes 

Liam smiled easily. “As long as they don’t kill me so I can continue to treat you well” 

“You might want to bring some extra money, just in case. It could help” Cynthia suggested after some thought. She resolved. I need to keep an eye on Liam when we get there. Just one visit, and perhaps Master Buckley and Master Garten will soften up toward him. They might even grow to like him.’ 

Liam turned to her with a smile. “Do Master Buckley and Master Garten like money!” 

Somewhat Cynthia responded, a bit sheepishly. 

“That simplifies things, Liam chuckled as he gently patted her head. “Luckily, your husband happens to have plenty of money” 

They parked and walked hand in hand into a high–end coffee shop. Despite knowing Evan and Delilah’s preference for money, Liam still wanted to purchase thoughtful gifts. The shop specialized in coffee that was only harvested in certain parts of Clusia, available for just a month each year. making it rare and costly. Liam chose the very best beans, spending more than 300 thousand dollars. Such beans were seldom available outside this limited period. The sales assistant’s hands trembled with excitement as she packaged them. After securing the coffee, they perused accessories. Liam didn’t flinch at dropping close to 3 million dollars that evening, but it left Cynthia feeling uneasy. When Liam seemed poised to continue spending, Cynthia stepped in and steered him away. 

By ten in the evening, they arrived back at Regalian Garden. Cynthia took her clothes into the bathroom to freshen up. Preoccupied with concerns about how Evan and Delilah might receive Lim, she found herself distracted, and her shower stretched longer than usual. Meanwhile, Liam, having cleaned up in the guest bedroom, lay on the bed for over ten minutes. When Cynthia still hadn’t appeared, he grew puzzled and went to check on her. Finding the bathroom door unlocked, he turned the handle easily and entered. The room was filled with steam, obscuring his view, but he could make out Cynthia’s silhouette. Feeling a sudden tightness in his throat, Liam swallowed unconsciously. Cynthia, deep in thought, didn’t notice him until he stepped in and wrapped his arms around her. Startled, she playfully punched him in the chest. “What are you doing? You

Liam grasped Cynthia’s hand gently and pressed it against his chest, his voice low and intimate. “What were you thinking about!” He was clad only in a bath towel, which threatened to slip off due to their movements. Feeling a bit exposed, Cynthia instinctively tried to find something to cover herself with. However, Liam drew her back into his arms before she could move away. Their skin touched under the warm spray of the shower. Liam leaned in and kissed her earlobe softly, his breath warm against her skin, causing her cheeks to redden, “You haven’t shared what’s on your mind. Where do you think you’re going?” 

Cynthia’s legs felt weak, her heart pounding fiercely. Her voice trembled as she spoke. Tm worried about how Master Buckley and Master Garten might treat you” 

Liam turned her gently to face him, their breath mingling and creating a mist of steam around them. “You doubt your man’s abilities?” he teased gently.
