Chapter 205
Despite Haller’s indignant stare, Cynthia enjoyed her meal with triumphant relish
Haller headed up the stairs, as he had lost his appetite from frustration at that point. He rarely had breakfast and had only made an effort to wake up early to make breakfast for Queena. Upon returning to his room, he decided to catch some more sleep.
Among the three residents of Serene Residence, only Evan was an early riser. The other two enjoyed sleeping in.
Queena sat opposite Cynthia with food in her hands and asked curiously, “Cynthia, is this how you two usually get along!”
Cynthia took a huge bite and replied as she chewed on her food, “Well, Hallet always likes to oppose me. Thankfully, Master Buckley and Master Garten dote on me, so whenever I mention them, he immediately backs down.” Cynthia shared amusing anecdotes from her childhood with Hallet, causing Queena to laugh.
gathering the dishes and heading to the kitchen. “Cynthia, Ill
After breakfast, Cynthia intended to wash the dishes, but Queena beat her to it, g handle the dishes”
Cynthia didn’t stop her. Suddenly, she remembered another matter she needed to address. She seized the opportunity and hurriedly headed upstairs to look for Haller while Queena was washing dishes and Liam was resting. “Hallet Cynthia gently knocked twice before entering his room.
Hallet was lying on the bed with closed eyes, pretending to be asleep. After entering the room, Cynthia sat on the edge of the bed. She pulled out a strand of her hair, folded it, and lightly brushed it against Haller’s nose repeatedly.
Despite trying to resist the itch. Haller’s eyebrows twitched. Eventually, he couldn’t hold back a big sneeze.
“Oh, Hallet, you’re awake?” Cynthia tossed the hair aside and looked at Hallet as she smiled slyly
Hallet sprang up and glared at Cynthia. “Disturbing someone’s sleep is a crime deserving divine retribution. You’ll be struck by lightning.
If y
you were truly asleep, then yes. But you weren’t, Cynthia countered. She raised her chin, gesturing for Hallet to look at the sunny sky outside the window, “Look how clear it is outside. It’s proof you weren’t asleep.”
“What a twisted logic,” Hallet muttered, attempting to get out of bed
Quickly, Cynthia moved her body to block Hallet. “Haller, I need to talk to you about something important”
“Keep your distance. You’re a married woman now. How would it look to have a man trapped on his bed by you?” Haller chided
Cynthia was rendered speechless and rolled her eyes. “I really need to talk to you. Be serious.”
“Then don’t sit on my bed. It might cause misunderstandings, Hallet said, pointing to a chair nearby. “Sit there”
Cynthia complied, as she was well aware she needed his help.
Once Cynthia sat down, Hallet asked, “All right, how much do you need?”
“How did you know I was going to ask for money?” Cynthia was surprised.
“Because you deliberately avoided your husband and that young lady. There’s only one reason you’d be so compliant. Money, Hallet said, hitting the mark.
Cynthia gave him a thumbs–up before extending her index finger.
*300 thousand dollars? Easy, I can give you that anytime,” Hallet said casually.
However, Cynthia shook her index finger.
-3 million dollars? Still doable. I’ll transfer it in a few days, Hallet said.
Again, Cynthia shook her finger.
Hallet couldn’t help but sit up straight with his eyes wide open. He said tentatively, “30 million dollars.”
This time, Cynthia finally put her finger away and gave a thumbs–up again. Hallet’s heart almost skipped a beat. “Are you serious? You might as well declare bankruptcy
“Hallet, Cynthia pleaded with puppy eyes, looking pitiful and helpless, making one feel guilty for not helping her. “I know you have that much money.”

“That’s my future wedding fund,” Hallet protested, turning away to avoid Cynthia’s gaze.
“I promise to repay you within a year.” Cynthia stood and moved into his line of sight. Larson Group had numerous promising projects waiting to launch. With the necessary funds, these projects could quickly become profitable.
Hallet turned his head the other way, but Cynthia persisted. He finally explained, “I don’t have that much liquidity now. But if I collect some debts, I could scrape it together. You know the debt I’m talking about too. It’s been outstanding for two years.”
He had no intention of refusing her request and only wanted to assert his seniority. However, the amount was substantial, making it challenging to gather quickly.
“So, you’re willing to help?” Cynthia asked tentatively.
“My only family aside from our masters is you. Who else would I help?” Hallet conceded. “But you know how tough that debt is to collect.”
A local gang leader owed the debt he mentioned. Cynthia had previously helped Haller attempt to collect it while on the border, so she was well- versed in the situation. She narrowed her eyes and said, Tl figure out a way to handle this debt. Thanks in advance, Hallet
After receiving a positive response, Cynthia beamed with delight. Thoughtfully, she moved to tuck Hallet in, but he quickly waved her off “That’s enough. I can’t handle your kindness. Just don’t bring up our masters every time, and we’ll call it even.”
Cynthia smiled and said, “One more thing. Hallet. Keep this to yourself.”
“Okay,” he replied.

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
